{"id":125,"date":"2013-01-25T17:51:33","date_gmt":"2013-01-25T17:51:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/communityservices\/?p=125"},"modified":"2013-01-25T17:51:33","modified_gmt":"2013-01-25T17:51:33","slug":"monthly-report-december-2012","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/communityservices\/2013\/01\/25\/monthly-report-december-2012\/","title":{"rendered":"Monthly Report ~ December 2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Senior Center<\/strong> (Nancy Ream Enabnit)<br \/>\nThe big news for December is always the Breakfast with Santa fundraiser. \u00a0Over $2,500 in net profit was earned to support the Sandy\/Boring meals-on-wheels program. \u00a070 volunteers (including the entire Community Center staff plus two from City Hall and Mayor King) helped to keep the event running smoothly. \u00a0Nearly 500 people attended with a great turnout of children visiting with Santa.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Parks<br \/>\n<\/strong>The RFP for Bornstedt Park design drawings and construction management was awarded to Group Mackenzie. \u00a0\u00a0Survey work, from local company Firwood Design, began the last week in December.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Recreation<\/strong> (Sarah Richardson)<br \/>\nThe Winter\/Spring Recreation Guide was mailed and entered into the online registration system mid-December. \u00a0New classes are scheduled to begin after the holiday break, and the guide is full of both old favorites and some great new classes.<\/p>\n<p>The 3<sup>rd<\/sup>\u00a0&amp; 4<sup>th\u00a0<\/sup>Grade Mountain Storm Youth Basketball League wrapped up the season with a Jamboree on December 12<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0at Sandy High School. It was exciting for the players to end their season in the new facility.
