Storm started off with games in January at Sandy Grade, Firwood, Welches, and Boring.\u00a0 Grades 3\/4 games are during the week and the 5\/6 games are all on Saturdays at Cedar Ridge.\u00a0 We brought in high school kids that play on the high school basketball team to referee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have a total of 251 kids that signed up for this program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0A brand new class started in January- a dance fitness class- which filled up with 10 participants.\u00a0 Coming in February are new science classes with Minds in Motion- Outer space physics &amp; Reco robot class.\u00a0 The robot class is full with 13 kids!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Challenges: Due to the winter\/ice storm we had to cancel 2 Saturdays for all 5\/6 games and practices for a week.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"624\" height=\"832\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-us.googleusercontent.com\/vqGkqR04XX92nFb-uX3ZsTNA8y9WW0VOGjLt-OHZedG0Q12ICo46lU9uuzFVmowoG3tvYZrpkiq8K0dJi4Euy3C2ASinjmWW55FoLRPP_niZbpj15lsPiTc5m2b6nOIohmkTo6Sk0cwr5sXe6DcTqZo\">\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-us.googleusercontent.com\/0m9axQuwkZBwRCzxCN28E4JGr8m_mPzptZBkZHCHNNV-Y9cIbgfCwQhXbbDRDaoyWqx5ZkBvlQYKBiZaJN9lfG4puI3waEWChkgGeWXURkyJddyjwenvs4vFgJ_bBMkgGBY_xpzO_3l3WlKn499a8T0\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-us.googleusercontent.com\/TcO6RxmLP8OyLlAHsHxiDxcxZRzZiUgOgcjYmUro_0osqbqdCHbvXqtah7dXV5WroEi68jkAJvPC8rQTVQeZ_Wl1OPintoboAeVd6nBRZxtzp80USILjHgsRhZEzfgT9Q4NlvklVcIDktUtJFmBnQDc\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Amy: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mt Storm Games started and are going well. I created player awards to be used as a teaching tool for each team. Coaches seem to be enjoying them!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>&#8211; I finished setting up the Volunteer Local webpage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>&#8211; Had 10 successful &#8220;Gratitude for Winterfest&#8221; social media posts. I also delivered a large number of thank you cards to the businesses who participated in the Stocking Stroll.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Had 2024&#8217;s first Bee City Action group meeting in January. We programed events until the end of September for the group. Followed up via email with additional information.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attended an informational meeting about public contracting, a meeting at Tickle creek to assess the storm damage, and a Bluff Dog park upgrade kick off meeting.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Made signs for the Community Campus park project, Tickle Creek trail closure, and for the upcoming Bluff dog park temporary closure.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/communityservices\/files\/2024\/02\/image-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"414\" height=\"639\" src=\"https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/communityservices\/files\/2024\/02\/image-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1908\" srcset=\"https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/communityservices\/files\/2024\/02\/image-2.png 414w, https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/communityservices\/files\/2024\/02\/image-2-194x300.png 194w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 414px) 100vw, 414px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Issued Notice to proceed for the Construction of Cedar Park and compiled the fully executed contract.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Completed quarterly grant report and reimbursement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Caroleana: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>January\u00a0was a full month that came and went quickly.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Caroleana had 411 senior related calls. \u00a0This month the center had <strong>11 new MOW <\/strong>clients; which involves home visits with each client.  Caroleana further offered and assisted each household with other available resources.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Energy Assistance<\/strong> &#8211; In January,\u00a0 the winter heating program for Clackamas County EA continued and we submitted 9\u00a0applications.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Grief Class presented by Mt. Hood Hospice had to be rescheduled due to weather&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The First Financial education class was held and hosted by Embold Credit Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Respite<\/strong>: In January, the decision was made to place the Change of Pace respite program on hold until the numbers increase.\u00a0 John and Caroleana looked at the numbers\/averages throughout the program&#8217;s service time.\u00a0 At this time we will have a waitlist.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Respite met three times in January and had only one client.\u00a0 This client and his caregiver were very thankful for the program and will continue to stay in touch with the center.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finished up the Winterfest Thank You cards for the business and community organizations that participated in any aspect of Winterfest.\u00a0 As a department we sent out over 85 cards this January.\u00a0 Each tier of sponsorship was given a special thank you card with photos from the events.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Caroleana researched grocery delivery options for homebound seniors who are low-vision or technologically limited.&nbsp; She called several large companies like InstaCart, Store to Door (which runs in Portland and surrounding areas) DoorDash, and Fred Meyer\u2019s grocery delivery.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3 different Meals on Wheels (MOW) days were canceled due to inclement weather- Jan 12th, Jan 17th, and Jan 19th.\u00a0 As a team we called all our MOW clients and checked in on each of them (45+ depending on the meal day) making sure they were safe and well.\u00a0 We asked if they first had enough food and secondly had heat\/power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The start of January marked the 6 month mark for the Clackamas county contract. Caroleana evaluated the numbers for all contracted services (case management, Information and Assistance, Reassurance, HDM Assessments).\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Marc and Caroleana researched shelf stable meals.\u00a0 Marc requested a new order form from Trio with more options.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Started the <strong>March for Meals Campaign<\/strong>.
