Accomplishments:<\/strong>\u00a0 The first Annual Yappy Hour was a huge success. We had close to 350 people with their dogs. and everyone had a blast. The vendors are excited for next year and it will even be bigger next year with more vendors wanting to join.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A special thanks to Andrew Lytle, local graphic designer and artist, for providing free dog sketches to dog owners at the event. This booth was a big hit! Andrew completed an estimated 25 sketches during the 3+ hour event. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Summer Guide came out the first week in May. Posters for music and movies have been distributed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carol had her largest senior class on May 21st<\/sup> with 29 seniors attending.  The word has been spreading and we are getting new seniors that come into the center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Caroleana: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Caroleana had over 425  senior related calls.   This month the center had 7 new MOW <\/strong>clients & 7 <\/strong>reassessments; which involves home visits with each client.     Caroleana further offered and assisted each household with other available resources. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Caroelana started to make calls and schedule appointments for the summer cooling Energy Assistance program.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As well she participated in a select online survey for the Institute on Aging<\/strong> with the college of Urban and public Affairs at Portland State<\/strong>. \u00a0 The interview portion of the survey was conducted over zoom with 10 other center directors throughout the state of Oregon. \u00a0 The Oregon Health Authority<\/strong> funds and supports 24 specialists statewide.\u00a0 The local Clackamas County specialist is Kim Whitely who I have met twice. \u00a0 Their goal is to collaborate with and coordinate with community partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conducted two trainings with meals on Wheels drivers including elder abuse signs and what to do in case of an emergency.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Caroleana\u00a0 went on a hike this month with Marc and the seniors to Salish Ponds.\u00a0 She thoroughly enjoyed herself and is making a point to attend once a month in order to have more conversations with seniors who go on hikes.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Caroleana also helped a local senior get assistance with the purchase of special orthopedic shoes.  She connected this senior to Sandy Helping Hands and assisted in filling out the intake paperwork in order for him to get financial assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Event: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On May 14th<\/strong> we had the Senior Resource Fair which was a success and we had over 65 people attend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

19 businesses and organizations participated, giving their time and providing resources to our community.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Melissa Hagerety with Legal Aid Service with Clackamas County reached out to Caroleana in May. \u00a0 They received a grant that will fund a few training courses in the fall. \u00a0 We Scheduled for Legal Aid classes for the end of summer on the last Tuesday in Aug and Sept.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
