<\/strong>Chinese New Year – 46 people came to our first Chinese New Year program, with Chinese crafts and Chinese foods. <\/p>\n\n\n

Ongoing
<\/strong>Wy’East Artisans Art Club – 82 kids made valentines and gift baskets, had a Valentine’s Day party with crafts, snacks and games, built cells (think biology) out of found objects, and created robots out of recycled materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teen Lock-In (rescheduled from earlier in the month due to snow) – 78 teens attended this program titled “Winter Wonderland” which started with karaoke at Antfarm and ended with cookie decorating among other activities at the Library.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Library Coffeehouse – 60 people attended to listen to the music of Steve Hale an Oregon native singer – songwriter.  Thank you to Starbucks for the coffee donation! \n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plants and Popcorn – 20 people attended the film “What Plants Talk About” in the documentary series for gardeners. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nourishing broths – 9 people attended to hear presenter Karen Morgan discuss how to make a great tasting and super nutritious broth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paint Nite – 18 people attended to create a painting step-by-step with Melissa Lawrence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Book Clubs:
Men’s – 11 people discussed The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn<\/em>  by Mark Twain.
Hoodland – 9 people discussed America’s First Daughter<\/em> by Stephanie Dray.
Women’s – 7 people discussed Jane Eyre<\/em> by Charlotte Bronte<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Photography Group – “Show no tell” – 8 attendees submitted a photo that spoke to them of love.  All photos were presented without any additional context and were discussed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outreach<\/strong>
Special<\/strong>
Youth Career Expo – Teen Librarian Rebecca Robinowitz spoke with approximately 300 teen students from all Clackamas County school districts, as well as, college students, and young workers from throughout the area.\u00a0 Held at Clackamas Community College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Youth Summit – held at Willamette University in Salem for Youth Councils throughout the state.  Rebecca attended with 1 student from Sandy High School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vista Apartments – 60 kids did literacy and STEM activities.  Activities included: Chinese New Year activities, creating manga books, chinese brush painting, lantern making craft, and challenge worksheets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
