\n<\/b>Dr. Seuss\u2019 Birthday! Sandy 25 kids and 25 parents, Hoodland 10 kids and 15 parents<\/span><\/p>\n

Architect\u2019s in Schools – Hoodland held a reception for urban and suburban architectural projects done in Welches Elementary School.  27 kids and 15 parents attended.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/b>Spaghetti Feed & Masquerade Ball – 27 teens attended a <\/span>fundraiser to benefit<\/span> The Trevor Project<\/span><\/a>.  Partners on this program included the <\/span>Gender\/Sexuality Youth Alliance at Sandy High School, Sandy Library, AntFarm, and Sandy Community Center.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/b>Library Coffeehouse \u2013 71 people attended to listen to the music of Bob Soper & Elizabeth Nicholson. <\/span>Irish harp, North Indian sarod, Greek bouzouki, Middle Eastern and African percussion, as well as many more instruments were used!<\/span> Thank you to Starbucks for the coffee donation!<\/span><\/p>\n

Oregon Geology – What\u2019s in Your Backyard? – 35 people attended to hear Dr. Torley take us on a geological field trip through Oregon.<\/span><\/p>\n

Seed Library<\/b>
\n<\/b>The Sandy Seed Library is now open!  Come browse our great selection of seeds to plant in your garden.  Let a few go to seed, and bring the seeds back for next year.<\/span>

\n<\/b>Master Gardener Series – The Wonderful World of Bees – 20 people attended this program which examined the 400 native species of bees in Oregon.  Thank you to the Master Gardener\u2019s for this great program. Look for more in the series over the next 6 months! <\/span><\/p>\n

Plants and Popcorn \u2013 6 people attended the film \u201cFirst Flower\u201d in this documentary series for gardeners. <\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/span>Men\u2019s \u2013 10 people discussed <\/span>One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest<\/span><\/i> by Ken Kesey<\/span>

Photography Group \u2013 7 people attended to listen to Mike talk about printing photos.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/b>Little Cubs Preschool – 37 kids and 8 parents\/teachers (over two mornings) heard a storytime at the library, and heard Monica talk about working in the library.<\/span><\/p>\n

Oregon Trail Academy – 25 5th graders from OTA visited the library to learn how to do research.<\/span>
\n<\/b>
\n<\/b>Sandy Grade School – 85 3rd and 4th graders listened to Monica\u2019s book talks and checked out books.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Ongoing<\/b>
\n<\/b>Vista Apartments \u201339 kids did literacy and STEM activities. We did not hold a program during Spring Break.  This month the program included <\/span>Book Hunts, Geoboard, literacy challenges, pattern blocks<\/span>. Students created a <\/span>Community Map with roads, signs, and LEGO buildings.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>ESOL tutoring \u2013 62 tutors and 62 learners met to work on English Language skills.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Exhibits<\/strong>
\nWy’East Artisans Guild at Sandy Library. In this exhibit, artists explore mystery books, the mystery of life, and other mysteries in their chosen medium and in their own style. Artists include: Jennifer Bliesner, Melody Bush, Dawnna Goudie, Vern Groff, Becky Hawley, Becky Jacob, Earlean Marsh, Kimberly Nelson, Rod Stroh, Helen Von Struesen. Exhibit is up through June 27th.
