Challenge Yourself! A Librarians Guide to Anti-racism for all ages<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In support of the City Council\u2019s\u00a0resolution<\/a>\u00a0condemning racism and affirming the City\u2019s commitment to equity, Sandy and Hoodland Public Libraries invite you to join us in broadening our understanding of the deep-rooted racism that is a part of the fabric of our culture. All people have an important role to play in creating a just and equitable society for everyone. Self education is the first step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This resource list is intended to provide a variety of ways to educate yourself. Do a bit from each area if you can; or just watch the YouTube videos if your time is limited. The important thing is to get started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This challenge is available through Beanstack.  Access Beanstack<\/a> through your web browser or download the Beanstack Tracker app for Android<\/a> or iOS<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Computers by Appointment <\/strong><\/a>at Sandy\u00a0 <\/strong>We had 75 people schedule appointments and use the computers in the month of October (we have capacity for 63\/week or 279 in 31 days).\u00a0 People need to call to make an appointment.\u00a0 <\/strong>Computers by Appointment at Hoodland started November 2nd!.

Mobile Printing <\/strong>People are definitely catching on to our mobile printing<\/a> services.  <\/strong>Send prints from your smartphone, tablet, or laptop.  Once the print job is sent, it will sit in a que waiting to be released to print.  Call the library to have staff release the print job in the que to print. Pick up your prints through our Curbside Service<\/a>.  Prints must be picked up the same day the print job is sent.  For a limited time, printing is free of charge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Statistics for mobile printing in October:
Sandy – 23 users printed 89 jobs (852 pages)
Hoodland 3 users printed 18 jobs (147 pages)

Book bundles for babies and learning readers <\/strong>We now have premade Book Bundles of board books and EZ Readers. The board books are a random assortment of 3-4 books. The EZ readers are a random assortment of 3-4 books, bundled by level. Come to the library during our curbside hours to pick one up! Call us from the parking lot and let us know what level of book bundle you want and we will check it out to you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Curbside pickup<\/strong><\/a> of holds <\/strong>Pickup at Sandy is 10am-4pm Monday-Saturday and 12-4pm on Sunday.  At Hoodland 10am-12pm Monday and 12-2pm Tuesday-Friday.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sandy – 1763 pickups in 31 days.\u00a0 Average 57 pickups\/day(down from 60 last month).\u00a0
Hoodland – 351 pickups in 22 days.\u00a0 Average 16 pickups\/day(down from 20 last month).
We checked out a total of 5693 items(up from last month\u2019s 5304) through curbside pickup!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/strong>We started a newsletter for kids at Vista Apartments.\u00a0 The newsletter will feature stories, poems, and drawings done by the kids living there.
