Photos on Loan<\/strong>
The Sandy Library currently has two photos on loan from Daniel Stevens aka the Sandy Mountain Man. Come see his storytelling at our first Summer Reading program at the gazebo in Meinig Park on June 29th at 2pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oregon Department of Human Services<\/strong> (DHS)
DHS is back in the Library in May!  Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00am – 3:00pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Computer Users<\/strong>
Sandy 455 sessions
Hoodland 114 sessions

Mobile Printing <\/strong>Send prints from your smartphone, tablet, or laptop.  Once the print job is sent, it will sit in a queue waiting to be released to print.  Call the library on the same day to have staff release the print job. Pick up your prints in person or through our Curbside Service.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sandy – 16 users printed 40 jobs (165 pages)
Hoodland – 15 users printed 65 jobs (210 pages)

Library Cards<\/strong>  Sandy patrons created 22 ecards (87 cards in person) Hoodland patrons created 2 ecards (12 cards in person).

Checkouts <\/strong>
Sandy – 2487 sessions. This averages 83 sessions\/day (down from 84 last month) 9439 items
Hoodland – 581 sessions.  This averages 23 sessions\/day (down from 24 last month) 2099 items

We checked out a total of 11,538<\/strong> items(down from last month\u2019s 11,808) through curbside pickup and browsing.

Kids Programs
Ongoing
<\/strong>Vista Apartments – 57 kids made monsters, banjos, and as a special treat made books with volunteer Florence Adee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sandy After School Kids’ Club – 7 kids and 5 adults made LEGO creations at LEGO Club and did Scratch Art at the Make & Take program <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take & Make – 65 kids (50 Sandy, 15 Hoodland) picked up supplies for scratch art.  Our Take & Make kits for kids are  available on the 15th with an additional video on Facebook in case you can’t make it to the Make & Take program!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reading Tutoring – 7 one hour sessions of reading tutoring (2 tutors and 2 students).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Read to a Dog – 4 kids read to a dog in person in the library!

Storytimes <\/strong>
<\/strong>Storytime videos were posted in our Facebook Group: Sandy and Hoodland Libraries – Storytime Parents Group.  Use numbers were recorded after 1 week. All Storytimes were presented by librarian Monica Smith – unless otherwise noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/strong>Take & Make – 60 people picked up Natural Beeswax wraps kits (50 Sandy, 10 Hoodland).  Adult Take & Makes are available starting on the 15th of the month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

American Red Cross Blood Drive – 20 people attended, 15 units of blood collected<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Writing Group  – 15 people attended our twice monthly writing group led by volunteer Gary Dohrer.  Gary is a retired English professor with over 30 years of experience teaching writing and literature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ESOL Tutoring – 2 – 1 hour sessions (1 tutor and 1 student)
