Volunteer Recognition (City-wide)<\/strong>
A group effort between the Community Center staff and Library staff was a big success.  89 volunteers and city staff were there to recognize the major donation of time to help run city events and services, and to advise the city on policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oregon Department of Human Services<\/strong> (ODHS)
ODHS is in the Library. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00am – 3:00pm for drop-in assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mobile Printing <\/strong>Send prints from your smartphone, tablet, or laptop.  Once the print job is sent, it will sit in a queue waiting to be released to print.  Call the library on the same day to have staff release the print job. Pick up your prints in person or through Curbside Service.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Family Fun Day at Pioneer Mobile Home Park – 46 kids and 15 adults attended our inaugural event!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/strong>Take & Make – 100 people (80 Sandy, 20 Hoodland) picked up supplies to make recycled magazine coasters.  Take and Makes for adults are available on the 15th day of the month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Creation Station – Creation Station is a twice monthly interactive program that welcomes adults with disabilities.  19 people attended on the 2nd Monday of the month to make Hojalata; Mexican Tin Art, 13 people attended the 4th Monday of the month to play Loter\u00eda (with prizes!) – a traditional Mexican game similar to Bingo.(Maker Lab).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Training<\/strong>
<\/strong>We had a Library Staff Training Day this month.  Al Matecko came in to work with us on teambuilding.  He served as a Public Affairs Officer in the United States Air Force for 10 years, and then served as Director of Public Affairs for the Pacific Northwest Region of the US Forest Service for 15 years.  He develops custom based training in three prime areas: Communication, Team Building, and Safety.  As a member of the Library District Advisory Committee on behalf of Happy Valley Library, Al is an avid library user.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
