Tree Lighting and Gingerbread Library<\/strong>
Over 500 people came to the annual tree lighting. Sandy Public Library was there to hand out 100 packets of our Craft for a Cause: Holiday cards for seniors. Bring your finished cards to the library by December 15th and we’ll send them out with Meals on Wheels and deliver them to Avamere for their residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Library took the challenge of Parks and Recreation and created a Gingerbread Library! A big thank you to the following staff who worked on it (and everyone else who worked in the library while we did!): Brianna Chase, Crista Doty, Kimberly Gomez-Ruelas, Kristi Granberg, Emily Huffman, Sarah McIntyre, and Maureen Houck for transport. And a special huge thank you to Jim Freeman – our amazing volunteer who helped with woodworking a logistics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oregon Department of Human Services<\/strong> (ODHS)
ODHS is in the Library. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00am – 3:00pm for drop-in assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mobile Stabilization and Outreach Unit (MSOU) <\/strong>– This unit is coordinated by Parole and Probation Officer, Amanda Denis from the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office with the help of community partners: Love One, 4D, Central City Concern, Parrott Creek, Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization (IRCO), ODHS and Clackamas Behavioral Health.   They are in the library the first Wednesday of each month from 10 am – 1 pm. They have a regular clientele they meet with and also offer drop-in assistance for community members who need housing or services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take & Make available beginning on the 15th day of the month.  Our annual Craft for a Cause: Holiday card making for senior citizens in the community. Return them by December 15th so that they can be sent out with Meals on Wheels and delivered to Avamere residents before the holiday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
