Fines for Food during National Library Week!<\/strong>
<\/strong>Every April, during National Library Week, Sandy and Hoodland Libraries will waive half of patrons fines when they pay the other half.  All money collected during this week is distributed to our local food banks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sandy Community Action Center will receive $158.70 and Neighborhood Missions will receive $51.55 to purchase food needed for community members.  What a wonderful way to take care of a bill AND give back to our community!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ODHS is in the Library. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00am – 3:00pm for drop-in assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teen Library Advisory Board (TLAB) – 4 teens attended<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take & Make – 92 (72 Sandy, 20 Hoodland) teens pick up supplies to make Chalkboard Eggs.  Teen Take & Make is available on the 1st of each month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/strong>Adult Egg Hunt – in coordination with Parks and Recreation – 42 Senior Citizens or Adults with mental disabilities attended to hunt for eggs in the library in return for candy.  Participants also got a free hot or cold travel cup (donation by Starbucks!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

American Red Cross Blood Drive – 35 people attended and 31 donated blood<\/p>\n\n\n\n

French Conversation Group – 7 people attended at Hoodland <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mahjong – 7 people attended the beginner mahjong lesson with regular play afterward<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Edible Gardening Group – 11 people attended<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Computer Classes – 1 person attended Keyboard and Mouse<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Book-a-Librarian – 1 person attended to learn how to transfer photos from their phone and post an ad to sell items on craigslist<\/p>\n\n\n\n
