We had 180 kids and parents attend!<br \/>\n51 parents and kids came to Storytime in\u00a0Hoodland<br \/>\nWe did literacy activities with 63 parents and kids at the Vista Apartments in February<\/p>\n<p><strong>Teens<\/strong><br \/>\n15 teens attended MakerSpace in February.<br \/>\n42 teens attended Game Factory Coding Club in February.<br \/>\n27 teens attended Anime Club in February.<br \/>\n12 teens attended T-LAB (Teen-Library Advisory Board) in February to help the library plan teen programs and services.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/upload.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/en\/2\/22\/Station_Eleven_Cover.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"254\" height=\"391\" \/><strong>Adults<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ESOL &#8211; English Language and Culture Class had a diffciult time in February becuse of fear in the Hispanic community. \u00a0After 2 classes\u00a0with no attendance, the rest of the month had 12 students make it to the library.<br \/>\n7 people made\u00a0it to the Book Club at Hoodland to discuss <em>Station Eleven.<\/em><br \/>\n6 people at the Hoodland Library utilized our free Public Notary service.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Meetings, etc<\/strong><br \/>\nRebecca Robinowtiz &amp; Monica Smith attended the <strong>Youth Service Provider Network <\/strong>meeting on 2\/1, This presentation focused on Social Media and the Impact on Youth. \u00a0Sara McClurg, the Crime Prevention Specialist for Clackamas County Sheriff Office, presented on Internet Safety and the most recent threat and impacts on youth. Presentation included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Online predators<\/li>\n<li>Cyber Bullying<\/li>\n<li>Theft of personal information<\/li>\n<li>Internet slang<\/li>\n<li>Social Networking<\/li>\n<li>Sexting<\/li>\n<li>Risky cell phone apps like Instagram and Snapchat<\/li>\n<li>Online game sites<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sarah McIntyre assisted the City in\u00a0<strong>interviews<\/strong> for the new Community Services Director on 2\/2. \u00a0There were a great group of candidates for the position. \u00a0Welcome Tanya Richardson!<\/p>\n<p>On 2\/21 Chris WIlhemi and Sarah McIntyre met with Greg Williams and staff from the LINCC Network Office to review the Sandy and Hoodland Library buildings for RFID tagging. <strong>RFID tagging<\/strong> is scheduled at HO on 4\/30 (they are closed on Sundays), and at Sandy on May 1st-5th. The Sandy Library will be closed during the tagging. If you are detail oriented, and would like to volunteer at least 4 hours of your time, contact <a href=\"cwilhelmi@ci.sandy.or.us\">Chris Wilhelmi <\/a>at the Sandy Library. \u00a0All library programs will continue as normal this week in the Community Room, and we will reopen in time for First Friday on May 5th.<\/p>\n<p>Sarah McIntyre attended the <strong>Oregon Public Library Director&#8217;s Meeting<\/strong> on 2\/22.
