The Planning Commission approved a design review application to construct a new industrial storage building at the Hearth Classics facility off of Ruben Lane.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;font-style: inherit;color: inherit\">2)\u00a0BUILDING DIVISION ACTIVITY\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>a)\u00a0Total value for the month was $762,362.<br style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit;color: inherit\" \/>b) 3 permits for single family dwellings with a value of $632,504. \u00a0The year to date total is 51 permits exceeding the number to this same date (44) in 2013. \u00a0<br style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit;color: inherit\" \/>c) 8 permits for additions to a single-family dwellings with a value of $50,153.<br style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit;color: inherit\" \/>d) 0 duplexes.<br style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit;color: inherit\" \/>e) 7 commercial permits with a value of $69,955.<br style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit;color: inherit\" \/>f) \u00a02 other permits with a value of $9,750.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;font-style: inherit;color: inherit\">FROM TERRE GIFT, BUILDING OFFICIAL &#8211; \u00a0<\/strong>Residential plan reviews increased significantly in August, while the number of permits issued lessened.\u00a0 And the number of plans submitted for review rose again. \u00a0Vista Homes and Hayden Homes continue to lead as the busiest residential contractors.\u00a0 \u00a0Stonecreek Development is still active in both Deer Pointe and Sandy Bluff Subdivisions as they build the last of their lots. \u00a0Ed Wagoner is nearing completion of his 4 new townhomes at Nettie Connett and Balken Ave.\u00a0 Jerry Gravell has plans for another 4 new townhomes.\u00a0 Taliesin Homes finaled their last home in Tickle Creek Subdivision.\u00a0 Cashatt Construction has completed their first home at 36712 Ichabod and have been issued a permit for their second home in Tickle Creek.<\/p>\n<p>Commercial activities remained very active in August.\u00a0 AT&amp;T had their grand opening under a temporary permit and then received building final a week later.\u00a0 Starbucks is progressing quickly with their conversion of the former Jack-in-the-Box building and they expect to be have their grand opening in the middle of October.\u00a0 Sandy High School has reopened for their third year since completion of their new school.\u00a0 Unfortunately, the New Sandy High School has not received a Certificate of Occupancy due to a few remaining fire-code related inspections and tests that are required to be conducted.\u00a0 On a positive note, they are nearing completion of their remodel of the maintenance building to house their new IT and printing departments.<\/p>\n<p>Other commercial activities included La Milpa Mexican Foods Inc., is relocating their business operations into the large industrial building formerly occupied by Eclectic Institute, at 36350 Industrial Way.\u00a0 And Sandy Stone and Brick has relocated to 37470 Ruben Lane.\u00a0\u00a0 And lastly, the Building Department is happy to announce that after weeks of seemingly slow progress, Crawlers has received their final Approval for Occupancy and is now officially open.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/planning\/files\/2014\/09\/36712-Ichabod.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-313\" src=\"http:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/planning\/files\/2014\/09\/36712-Ichabod-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"36712 Ichabod\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" srcset=\"https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/planning\/files\/2014\/09\/36712-Ichabod-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/planning\/files\/2014\/09\/36712-Ichabod-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/planning\/files\/2014\/09\/36712-Ichabod-500x281.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Caschatt Construction Home, Salmon Creek Estates<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;font-style: inherit;color: inherit\">3) URBAN RENEWAL\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211;
