The Planning Commission will review this amendment on November 24 and the City Council in December.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;font-style: inherit;color: inherit\">2)\u00a0BUILDING DIVISION ACTIVITY\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>a)\u00a0Total value for the month was $2,751,291.<br style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit;color: inherit\" \/>b) 12 permits for single family dwellings with a value of $2,306.719. \u00a0The year to date total is 63 permits exceeding the number to this same date (48) in 2013. \u00a0<br style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit;color: inherit\" \/>c) 4 permits for additions to a single-family dwellings with a value of $120,626.<br style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit;color: inherit\" \/>d) 0 duplexes.<br style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit;color: inherit\" \/>e) 5 commercial permits with a value of $301,546.<br style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit;color: inherit\" \/>f) \u00a01 other permit with a value of $22,400.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;font-style: inherit;color: inherit\">FROM TERRE GIFT, BUILDING OFFICIAL &#8211; \u00a0<\/strong>Residential permits increased significantly in September, and the number of plans issued also increased.\u00a0 Hayden Homes and Vista Homes continued to lead as the busiest residential contractors.\u00a0 \u00a0Stonecreek Development is still active in both Deer Pointe and Sandy Bluff Subdivisions as they build the last of their lots. \u00a0Ed Wagoner is nearing completion of his 4 new townhomes at Nettie Connett and Balken Ave.\u00a0 Jerry Gravell has completed excavation and started foundations for 4 new townhomes.\u00a0 Cashatt Construction has started their second home at 36708 Ichabod. \u00a0\u00a0In addition to the new construction, there are nearly a dozen residential remodels currently underway.<\/p>\n<p>Commercial activities remained very active in September.\u00a0 Starbucks is nearing completion with their conversion of the former Jack-in-the-Box building and they expect to be have their grand opening in the middle of October.\u00a0 Sandy High School has obtained temporary occupancy of their new IT and printing departments located in the old maintenance building near athletic complex.\u00a0 La Milpa Mexican Foods Inc., has completed the relocation of their business operations into the large industrial building at 36350 Industrial Way.\u00a0 And the SAH Building has completed their fa\u00e7ade improvements, which has generated numerous positive comments and also attracted new tenants.<\/p>\n<p>Lastly, Terrence Gift, the Building Official, and John Bennett, the on-call inspector, attended three Code Training classes in September mandated by Oregon Building Codes Division.\u00a0 The Building, Energy, Mechanical, Plumbing and Residential codes have all been updated effective this fall. \u00a0The majority of the changes were insignificant and will have little noticeable effect on the building contractors.\u00a0\u00a0 The City of Sandy Building Department has begun updating the handouts to reflect the new code editions.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/planning\/files\/2014\/10\/Code-Books.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-318\" src=\"http:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/planning\/files\/2014\/10\/Code-Books-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"Code Books\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" srcset=\"https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/planning\/files\/2014\/10\/Code-Books-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/planning\/files\/2014\/10\/Code-Books-1024x575.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/planning\/files\/2014\/10\/Code-Books-500x281.jpg 500w, https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/planning\/files\/2014\/10\/Code-Books.jpg 1256w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;font-style: inherit;color: inherit\">3) URBAN RENEWAL\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211;
