Type III, 39 lot subdivision just south of the Bornstedt Park. \u00a0The Planning Commission will likely review this at their May meeting.<\/p>\n<p>b) File No. 15-012 SUB\/VAR &#8211; Type III, 8 lot subdivision west of Jewelberry Ave. \u00a0The commission will review this in May.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;font-style: inherit;color: inherit\">2)\u00a0BUILDING DIVISION ACTIVITY\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>a)\u00a0Total value for the month was $1,935,910.<br style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit;color: inherit\" \/>b) 9 permits for single family dwellings with a value of $1,792,811. \u00a0<br style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit;color: inherit\" \/>c) 3 permits for additions to single-family dwellings with a value of $15,449.<br style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit;color: inherit\" \/>d) 0 duplexes.<br style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit;color: inherit\" \/>e) 7 commercial permits with a value of $127,650.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;font-style: inherit;color: inherit\">FROM TERRE GIFT, BUILDING OFFICIAL &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>Building activities within the City of Sandy have continued at a steady pace in March. \u00a0Hayden Homes has 17 new homes in various phases of construction, and 3 more plans ready to issue.\u00a0 Ed Wagoner 5 townhouses in progress. \u00a0Jerry Gravell Construction has 8 permits open for townhouses.\u00a0 Jim Raze Construction and Kevin Cachatt\u00a0 each have one home in one progress.\u00a0\u00a0 Stonecreek Development has 4 homes in progress and one that is ready for final. \u00a0Villa Vista Homes along Hwy 211 has 20 homes under construction with 2 more ready to issue.\u00a0 And Gibson Homes has poured foundations for a set of 4 townhouses and is ready to start another set of 4 in April.<\/p>\n<p>Commercial activities slowed only slightly, and included a challenging building sewer repair under an existing building that was necessary before the new laundry mat could connect 16 washers to the existing drain system.\u00a0 During the month of March, department leaders from the Sandy High School met with the Building Official and the Planning Director on two separate meetings to discuss Crisis Planning and Rapid Assessment training.\u00a0 One item that became apparent to all attendees in the meetings, was the need for the formation of Citizen Emergency Response Teams (CERT), and the need to CERT Training, in preparation for a community disaster.\u00a0 The building safety department will work closely with the High School in coordination of the CERT training.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Other commercial projects included progress at the red building formerly occupied by Organic Sandy, which is now being renovated to become the \u201cRed Shed Public House\u201d with on tap brews.\u00a0\u00a0 Several meetings with the Planning and Building departments, have taken place in March regarding preliminary plans, but final plans have not yet been submitted for permits.\u00a0 Several more new businesses are in the process of starting up and will be reported on within next month\u2019s report.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;font-style: inherit;color: inherit\">3) URBAN RENEWAL\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211;
