Staff approved a design review to allow Johnson RV to install new lighting on the existing site.<\/p>\n<p>b) Files 15-048 SUB &#8211; Staff received an application to create a new six lot subdivision at the corner of Bluff Road and Olson Road.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;font-style: inherit;color: inherit\">2)\u00a0BUILDING DIVISION ACTIVITY\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>a)\u00a0Total value for the month was $2,061,527.<br style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit;color: inherit\" \/>b) 7 permits for single family dwellings with a value of $1,632,538. \u00a0<br style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit;color: inherit\" \/>c) 3 permits for additions to single-family dwellings with a value of $46,846.<br style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit;color: inherit\" \/>d) 0 duplexes.<br style=\"font-weight: inherit;font-style: inherit;color: inherit\" \/>e) 11 commercial permits with a value of $350,625.<\/p>\n<p>Through September we have had 102 residential buildings permits for the year.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;font-style: inherit;color: inherit\">FROM TERRE GIFT, BUILDING OFFICIAL &#8211; <\/strong>The number of residential inspections has slowed somewhat in October, mainly due to Hayden Homes holding their plan submittals until the end of the month. \u00a0Based upon the number of new residential permits issued and the number of plans submitted for review in October, we can safely expect to see a steady number of new homes to be constructed going into winter.\u00a0 Commercial inspections continued to be slower than previous.<\/p>\n<p>Hayden Homes and Vista Homes continued to lead as the busiest residential contractors, with each having 13 homes under construction.\u00a0 Gibson Homes was able to complete 2 of their 8 townhomes in October.\u00a0 West Ridge Homes and Raasch Construction have a total of 7 homes under way, with the same\u00a0 project manager\/builder.\u00a0 Jerry Gravell completed one townhouse, and has 3 more townhomes before he is finished on Balken Avenue.\u00a0 Richard Hagerty and Ron Hagerty (son and father with separate companies) have a 5 homes in total under construction\u00a0\u00a0 Kevin Cashatt completed the last of his 3 homes, and Jim Raze construction completed his custom home this past month \u2013 both are located in Salmon Creek estates.\u00a0\u00a0 Raze construction is also progressing quickly with another home on American street.\u00a0 And Wolverine Construction was successful in completing their custom home on American street before the end of the month.<\/p>\n<p>All of the builders have expressed frustration in scheduling sub-contractors due to the high volume of homes being built in the entire region. \u00a0The challenge of scheduling work and the lack of available subcontractors still remains the greatest challenge the builders complain about.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0In addition to the new construction, there is about half a dozen residential remodels currently underway.<\/p>\n<p>Of special enjoyment in October was giving final approval of the Tennis Court storage rooms and gazebo at the Sandy High School, and the final approval of the attractive home located at 15139 Sunflower by Ron Hagerty.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/planning\/files\/2015\/11\/15139-Sunflower-SFR.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-408\" src=\"http:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/planning\/files\/2015\/11\/15139-Sunflower-SFR-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"15139 Sunflower - SFR\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/planning\/files\/2015\/11\/15139-Sunflower-SFR-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/planning\/files\/2015\/11\/15139-Sunflower-SFR-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/planning\/files\/2015\/11\/15139-Sunflower-SFR-500x281.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>15139 Sunflower Ave.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-weight: bold;font-style: inherit;color: inherit\">3) URBAN RENEWAL\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211;
