The applicant&#8217;s representative submitted the required TPR analysis and ODOT has provided their response. Currently the applicant\u2019s representative is working with outside agencies with regards to the existing historic designation(s) associated with the property to determine how they would like to approach that element of the project before proceeding to Planning Commission for consideration.<\/p>\n<p><u>Sandy Community Campus<\/u>: Following the\u00a0City Council approval of Ordinance 2018-28\u00a0to vacate segments of public ROW, staff has continued to work with the contracted land surveyor to begin the re-platting process to clean up the property boundaries for the two owners (City of Sandy and OTSD). It was communicated to staff that a site visit would be performed on November 12, 2018 with associated\u00a0deliverable\u00a0to follow.<\/p>\n<p><u>Newberry Duplex<\/u>: Applicant Jeff Newberry received a final order regarding the proposed duplex development of a property on the north side of Creekside Loop.<\/p>\n<p><u>Zion Meadows<\/u>:\u00a0 An application was submitted for the relocation of mitigation trees.\u00a0 We are in the process of recording an amendment to the tree protection covenant for this subdivision.<\/p>\n<p><u>Stowaway Mini Storage<\/u>: This company received an incompleteness letter on October 25 in response to their design review application to incorporate 24 storage unit containers into their overall development.<\/p>\n<p><u>McDonald\u2019s<\/u>: The existing McDonalds restaurant on\u00a0HWY 26 has submitted an application for a Design Review for fa\u00e7ade improvements to conform with Sandy Style.<\/p>\n<p><u>Other large reviews being conducted<\/u>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>TSC, Inc.: they have decided to wait to excavate the site and move forward with construction until Spring 2019.<\/li>\n<li>Sandy Vault Storage: This proposed project was issued an incompleteness letter on 10\/29\/2018. Next steps on this project would be for the applicant to submit the requested missing items to Planning for review.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Economic Development items:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><u>Econ Devl &#8211; Commercial Properties (vacancies, new businesses, etc.)<\/u><\/em>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><u>Joe\u2019s Donuts<\/u>: Stage II complete.\u00a0 Sandy citizens can now enjoy their favorite donuts in an outdoor setting!\u00a0 Many thanks to the Parks crew for helping out with the installation.<a href=\"http:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/planning\/files\/2018\/11\/Joes-street-furniture.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-692\" src=\"http:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/planning\/files\/2018\/11\/Joes-street-furniture-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"438\" srcset=\"https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/planning\/files\/2018\/11\/Joes-street-furniture-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/planning\/files\/2018\/11\/Joes-street-furniture-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/planning\/files\/2018\/11\/Joes-street-furniture-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/planning\/files\/2018\/11\/Joes-street-furniture-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 584px) 100vw, 584px\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li><u>Next Adventure<\/u>: Construction is mostly complete and should be ready to take advantage of the 2018-2019 ski season.\u00a0 Paint job is similar to the Sandy PD.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><u>Econ Devl \u2013 Internal Projects<\/u><\/em>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><u>Downtown maintenance<\/u>:\n<ul>\n<li><u>AntFarm Downtown Maintenance contract<\/u>: The work on the Bignall Pool grounds is in progress \u2013 you may notice that the landscaping at the pool exit near Sandy Grade is now complete and looking much better. They have also completed the work in front of the former Elusive Trout Pub as well.\u00a0 As always, if there are areas of downtown that you would like to see them focus on next, let me know.<\/li>\n<li><u>West Streetscape project<\/u>: Next time you stop by City Hall, make sure to check out the cleanup work completed with this project.\u00a0 We filled in all of the landscaping \u201cislands\u201d across the street, removed an old driveway apron that was no longer serving an active business with a proper sidewalk segment (and approximately 10\u2019 of new, legal on-street parking), and added some outdoor customer facilities for Joe\u2019s Donuts including bike parking and new seating, along with some general clean up.<\/li>\n<li><u>Bignall Pool, north wall<\/u>: We have selected Laverne\u2019s Rock Works as the lowest bid contractor to do some repair to the exterior of Bignall Pool.\u00a0 Since the play structure has been removed, missing mortar and surface damage to that wall is both exposed and obvious now.\u00a0 We are repairing it so that it does not get worse now that there will be direct exposure to the elements.<\/li>\n<li><u>Derelict buildings<\/u>: We have now moved at least partially forward with all three property owners identified to Council as having derelict buildings in the downtown couplet.\u00a0 We are meeting with one of the property owners this week to get access to the property they wish to demo to have it tested for environmentally hazardous materials prior to putting the demolition out to bid.\u00a0 The other two property owners have been contacted and have responded, but have not yet identified the path they wish to take with their properties yet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: line-through\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><u>Clackamas County Tourism\u2019s Community Partnership Program grant projects<\/u>:\n<ul>\n<li><u>Jonsrud Viewpoint<\/u>: Blake Turin from N8 Construction has started this project in the late part of October by cutting and removing the pieces to be replaced at the \u00a0 Forms will be built, and concrete is scheduled to be poured by the end of the Thanksgiving holiday, followed by the addition of new traffic and instructional signage from both City of Sandy and Clackamas County Tourism &amp; Cultural Affairs.\u00a0 This project is scheduled to be completed by November 1.<\/li>\n<li><u>Meinig Park Entry Arch<\/u>: We have signed a contract with Todd Speck of Mountain View Contracting to do the construction work for this project. Speck was the contractor of record on the Shell Station fa\u00e7ade project in 2017 \u2013 he is local to Sandy and has displayed excellent craftsmanship in the work that he has completed with us to date.\u00a0 We are currently processing the building permit for this project, which should begin shortly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><u>Econ Devl \u2013 Conferences\/training<\/u><\/em>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oregon Economic Development Association: 2018 Annual Conference (October 7-9, Klamath Falls): This conference marks 2018\u2019s final opportunity for economic developers around the state to gather and network with each other, and to learn what is going on around Oregon with regard to economic development.\u00a0 Got to spend some time with our Clackamas County Tourism folks, who sent three representatives to the conference, and Clackamas County Business &amp; Economic Development\u2019s Cindy Moore.\u00a0 Also spent time catching up with Matt Lorenzen (my counterpart in Estacada) and other regional economic developers.\u00a0 Tourism was an overarching theme at this event, as Oregon\u2019s tourism numbers continue to skyrocket.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Planning items: Bloom Annexation:\u00a0Case No. 18-026 ANN, Bloom Annexation,\u00a0has been granted an extension not to extend beyond May 27, 2019 (245 days).
