Our department has reviewed 5 house permits that are\nready for issuance, and we have about 30 additional houses in the review\nprocess.&nbsp;Marshall Ridge was recently platted which added 37 buildable lots\nand in November we tentatively approved Jewelberry Meadows which is a 20-lot\nsubdivision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will receive the next&nbsp;update&nbsp;in April 2020.<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Planning items:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trillium Machine (19-017 DR\/VAR\/DEV\/TREE): Development Services has recently\nreceived new information from the applicant and is currently reviewing for\ncompleteness for the third time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Forest Service Site remodel (19-035\nDR\/ADJ US): Deemed complete and currently under review.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tickle Creek Village (19-038 DR\/TREE\/FSH):&nbsp; Proposed condos at the NE corner of Ruben and\nDubarko \u2013 deemed complete and currently under review.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bull Run Electric Building (19-036 DR): Deemed complete and currently under review.<br> <br> Sandy Vault Storage (19-046 DR\/MOD): Modifications to previously approved storage unit project has been deemed incomplete \u2013 awaiting additional information from applicant.<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Design\nReview:<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Bailey Meadows Subdivision (19-023 SUB\/VAR):\u00a0 The December 15<sup>th<\/sup> Planning Commission hearing on this subject has been continued to January 23<sup>rd<\/sup> \u2013 the City continues to work with the developer on pending issues.<\/li><li>Space Age Fueling Station (19-012 DR):\u00a0 Development Services Director issued final order to applicant per Planning Commission decision.<\/li><li>Sandy Health Clinic (19-032 ZC): Zoning change approved and in process.\u00a0 Clackamas County working directly with Ec Dev office regarding Fa\u00e7ade and streetscape reimbursement.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Kelly\u2019s Kudos:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I want to let Rebecca Casey know how much she has inspired\u00a0me as an employee and friend. \u00a0Your year+ long health battle was an amazing example of willpower, strength, and perseverance.\u00a0 You are a true warrior!\u00a0 It is exciting to see you back at work and once again being a full-fledged member of the Development Services family. \u00a0Welcome back and thank you for showing everyone what a fighting spirit truly means.<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Internal projects:&nbsp; <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>City Hall: City Manager\u2019s office requested looking into blinds instead of installing tinting on south and east facing picture windows.\u00a0 After researching, Sandy D\u00e9cor can provide blinds matching CH conference room for about the same price, so we will go this route instead.\u00a0 Windows have been measured and blinds are currently on order; installation should be scheduled for some time in February.<\/li><li><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>Economic Development items:<\/strong><br><br><em>Econ Devl &#8211; Commercial Properties (vacancies, new businesses, etc.)<\/em>:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Old Chariteas (future Le Happy) site:\u00a0 We are getting very close to setting an opening date for Le Happy Creperie &amp; entrance and front counter w\/ new restroom<br><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Paola\u2019s Pizza Barn:\u00a0 Axis Design has completed the design work for the restaurant, and a scope of work is being drafted for the project.\u00a0 Design work and scope will be forwarded to the restaurant owner when complete along with supplemental materials sometime in mid-January.<\/li><li>Sandy Marketplace:\u00a0 More minor improvements are being made here through the City of Sandy Fa\u00e7ade Improvement program.\u00a0 We approached them about      restyling three of the square planters out in the sidewalk area in front of the suites to give them public seating on all four sides and to add capstone along the top for the seating, removing the dated wooden seating (and associated maintenance costs) currently installed and increasing the aesthetic value.\u00a0 Pictured below is      the completed first planter, the other two will be completed sometime in February \u2013 if you stop by Bi-Mart or Grocery Outlet sometime soon, compare this refurbished planter to one they haven\u2019t started yet.\u00a0 The difference is remarkable. \u00a0(<em>We are thinking about adding this same capstone surface to the planters outside of the Sandy Public Library when we upgrade them in the spring, hopefully using the same contractor<\/em>)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"497\" src=\"http:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/planning\/files\/2020\/01\/planter-1024x497.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-826\" srcset=\"https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/planning\/files\/2020\/01\/planter-1024x497.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/planning\/files\/2020\/01\/planter-300x145.jpg 300w, https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/planning\/files\/2020\/01\/planter-768x372.jpg 768w, https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/planning\/files\/2020\/01\/planter-500x242.jpg 500w, https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/planning\/files\/2020\/01\/planter.jpg 1431w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption>Refurbished planter #1 at Sandy Marketplace<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Econ Devl \u2013 Internal Projects<\/em>:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Downtown\nmaintenance:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>SCC parking lot fencing replacement:&nbsp; Now that the base of this fencing has been repaired satisfactorily, we are looking to replace the actual fencing with new, black powder coated fencing at a uniform height (i.e. removing the backstop).&nbsp; Sandy Fence will install beginning on January 16.&nbsp; Watch for it.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Economic Development Committee (January 8 &#8211; inaugural meeting):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The first Economic Development Committee meeting was held from 6:30 &#8211; 8:00 PM on 1\/8\/20 in Council Chambers.  Committee members in attendance included Mayor Pulliam, Counselors Pietzold and Exner, City Manager Jordan Wheeler, Chamber Director Khrys Jones, and business leaders Kurt McKnight (Everfresh Fruit), Cathy Stuchlik (CCB), Bill Schwartz (Boring Brewing), Hans Wipper (Wippersnappers), Ernie Brache (AEC), Brandon Johnson (Johnson RV), and Jason Shuler (John L. Scott).  Discussions at this first meeting of the committee were extremely positive.  Future meetings will be held on the first Wednesday of the month.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Econ Devl \u2013 Conferences\/training<\/em>:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Google DMO Content Training (December 5, 8-12:30 PM): Workshop hosted by our friends at Clackamas County Tourism focusing on Google destination marketing organizations and how to capture the ownership of our city\u2019s \u201cinfrastructure\u201d on the Google platform.<\/li><li>Grow Clackamas!
