{"id":114,"date":"2013-01-17T01:48:58","date_gmt":"2013-01-17T01:48:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/police\/?p=114"},"modified":"2013-01-17T01:52:11","modified_gmt":"2013-01-17T01:52:11","slug":"council-report-january-2013","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/police\/2013\/01\/17\/council-report-january-2013\/","title":{"rendered":"Council Report &#8211; December 2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Commendations and Letters<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We received two letters from the Clackamas County Sheriff&#8217;s Office. \u00a0The first was a thank you letter for the\u00a0assistance\u00a0that the Sandy PD provided during the\u00a0Clackamas Town Center\u00a0Mall\u00a0Shooting\u00a0incident. \u00a0The second letter was a letter of commendation for Officer&#8217;s Olmos and Coates. \u00a0They\u00a0assisted\u00a0the\u00a0Sheriff&#8217;s\u00a0Officer with a short pursuit and capture of three suspects that had been in a stolen vehicle.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Schools<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I completed a school security audit on the new high school and presented my findings to the OTSD\u00a0Superintendent, Mr. Bayer. \u00a0I have also been\u00a0collaborating\u00a0with the school\u00a0district on their lock down procedures and other\u00a0emergency\u00a0response documents.<\/p>\n<p>Officer Way had a fairly busy month\u00a0conducting\u00a010 more background checks for school employees\/volunteers, providing counseling for seven staff and students as well as\u00a0investigating\u00a0several crimes. \u00a0He made a few drug related arrests and assisted outside agencies on two other investigations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Emergency Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We met with folks from the Sandy Fire Department and finalized some plans for the Emergency Operations Center (EOC). \u00a0We also finger printed all of the SFD employees we anticipate will be assigned to work in the EOC if\u00a0activated. \u00a0The fingerprints\u00a0were used to complete a Criminal Justice\u00a0Information\u00a0Services (CJIS) background check. \u00a0This allows anyone with an approved CJIS background check to come and go from our\u00a0building\u00a0(with the issued proximity card) without an escort.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fleet Maintenance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our aging patrol fleet needed a lot of repairs and\u00a0maintenance\u00a0in 2012. \u00a0We hit just over $30,000 in repair bills. \u00a0Sgt.
