February 2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In an effort to improve our customer service, we now take credit cards at our front desk. \u00a0Traditionally\u00a0we accepted check or cash only, for fee for service charges. \u00a0Using the &#8220;Square&#8221; and an I-pod \u00a0we were able to get up and running.<\/p>\n<p>As another customer service feature were are able to procure a drug take back box for our lobby. \u00a0This was done through a grant so there were no out of pocket\u00a0expenses\u00a0for this\u00a0project. \u00a0The box is located in the lobby and allows\u00a0citizens\u00a0that need to dispose of old medications to walk in and drop them off. \u00a0No paperwork, no having to wait for assistance and no\u00a0hassle!<\/p>\n<p>This month we saw 132 arrests, most of which were warrant or drug related. \u00a0The graph below shows the types of arrest by\u00a0category\u00a0to give you an overview of thecrime\u00a0occurring\u00a0here in Sandy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><a href=\"http:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/police\/files\/2013\/03\/Types-of-Arrests.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-144\" src=\"http:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/police\/files\/2013\/03\/Types-of-Arrests.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"473\" height=\"292\" srcset=\"https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/police\/files\/2013\/03\/Types-of-Arrests.png 473w, https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/police\/files\/2013\/03\/Types-of-Arrests-300x185.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 473px) 100vw, 473px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">I have also included an arrest clearance report below. \u00a0This graph shows you that we are averaging about a 73% clearance rate on cases taken in February.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><a href=\"http:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/police\/files\/2013\/03\/Arrest-Clearance-Rate1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-145\" src=\"http:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/police\/files\/2013\/03\/Arrest-Clearance-Rate1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"484\" height=\"295\" srcset=\"https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/police\/files\/2013\/03\/Arrest-Clearance-Rate1.png 484w, https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/police\/files\/2013\/03\/Arrest-Clearance-Rate1-300x182.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 484px) 100vw, 484px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>From the Property Room &#8211; Juli Smith<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sales:\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0The Property Room had sales of $0 this month.\u00a0 Year-to-date sales total $3,175.00<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Unclaimed backpacks were purged,\u00a0usable\u00a0clothing was removed, laundered and donated to the Sandy Action Center.<\/li>\n<li>Drug box was installed, article written for publication in the Sandy Post, information given to Records Manager for inclusion on the City website.<\/li>\n<li>Flyers were created for distribution to the public relating to the new Drug Drop Box and taken to a 3 hour event (March 1<sup>st<\/sup>) held at the Senior Center.\u00a0 We will also bring in approximately $300 of revenue from this event.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Funds from the Property Room totaling $1,650 were transferred to Finance at City Hall.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0The Property Room is working with the Juvenile Department on a better way to receive notification when a Juvenile case has been adjudicated.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>The graph below represents the number of items brought in and purged from the property room this month.<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/police\/files\/2013\/03\/Evidence.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-149\" src=\"http:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/police\/files\/2013\/03\/Evidence.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"472\" height=\"293\" srcset=\"https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/police\/files\/2013\/03\/Evidence.png 472w, https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/police\/files\/2013\/03\/Evidence-300x186.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 472px) 100vw, 472px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>From the School Resource Officer &#8211; Officer Kevin Way<\/p>\n<p>I had approximately 16 people (teachers, students and parents) contact me seeking advice or referrals and conducted 19 background checks for the school district.<\/p>\n<p>A student reported his I-pod was stolen while he was at school.\u00a0 He told me prior to reporting it stolen, he tracked it to a\u00a0residential\u00a0area in Sandy.\u00a0 Two days later when he reported the incident, he attempted to get online to show me the location of the I-pod, but was unsuccessful.<\/p>\n<p>A high school student was arrested for Possession of Marijuana within 1000\u2019 of a school and Delivery of a Controlled Substance when he brought marijuana laced cookies to school and shared them with another student.\u00a0 Campus security captured the incident when they were reviewing the school surveillance video for another incident.\u00a0 The student was transported the juvenile department in Oregon City.<\/p>\n<p>An OTSD employee reported unknown suspect\/s slashed the wall of the recently constructed green house behind the high school.\u00a0 The incident occurred sometime over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In an effort to improve our customer service, we now take credit cards at our front desk. \u00a0Traditionally\u00a0we accepted check or cash only, for fee for service charges. \u00a0Using the &#8220;Square&#8221;
