We continued our community outreach this month with more self defense and Run\/hide\/Fight training to different groups. \u00a0Specifically the Guide Dogs organization<\/p>\n
On 12\/10\/16, Chief Yamashita, Officer Olmos, Officer Argubright and his wife, Officer Lundry and his wife, Reserve Officer Crombie and his wife all participated in this years shop with a cop. \u00a0We took 10 kids from both the Oregon Trail School District and 10 kids from the Estacada School District shopping for Christmas. \u00a0Kids from all over Clackamas county were in attendance and over all 150 kids went shopping. \u00a0We had a great time.<\/p>\n
On 12\/14\/16, SPD and SFD conducted joint classroom training and then on 12\/20\/16 we conducted a joint exercise. \u00a0The purpose of the training was to explore ways to effectively integrate police and fire in active shooter type of emergencies. \u00a0Our goal is to get fire and medically trained personnel to the wounded sooner. \u00a0Like all good training, we learned what we knew, and what we don’t know. \u00a0We also learned what works and what doesn’t. \u00a0Overall it was very successful training.<\/p>\n
Chief Yamashita started her transition this month to Interim City Manager and Sergeant Roberts started his transition to Interim Chief of Police. \u00a0As a result of these changes the SPD conducted sergeants promotional testing on 12\/30\/16 for a new sergeant. \u00a0Exciting changing times for both the SPD and the City!<\/p>\n
