Work began on &#8216;perfecting&#8217; our water rights on Alder Creek and Brownell Springs with site visits by the consultant at each location on the 22nd.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WASTEWATER &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>A total of 33<em>,91<\/em>0,000 gallons of sewage were treated and used for irrigation. Minimum flow was .79\u00a0MGD on the 4th. Maximum flow was 1.49\u00a0MGD on the 15th. \u00a0A total of 0.8\u00a0inches\u00a0of rainfall was recorded during June.\u00a0<span style=\"color: #373737\">\u00a0BOD concentration was 6.2\u00a0mg\/l; BOD loading was 58\u00a0lbs; permit allows 10\u00a0mg\/l and 125\u00a0lbs.; SS concentration was 9.3 mg\/l; SS loading was 88\u00a0lbs.; permit allows 10 mg\/l and 125 lbs. \u00a0Effluent permit loading and limits do not apply when treated wastewater is used for irrigation. These figures are shown to demonstrate treatment efficiency.\u00a0Sludge processing\u00a0began on the 22nd. No sludge was hauled or spread during June.\u00a0\u00a0Clarifier No. 1 was drained for inspection and cleaning. The pumps at Marcy St.; Northside, Southside, Southeast, Southwest and Meinig Ave. lift stations ran a total of 250\u00a0hours with no significant problems. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>STREETS<\/strong><em>\u00a0<\/em>&#8211;\u00a0The street sweeping contractor spent 46 hours sweeping streets and collected more than 11\u00a0tons (16 cu. yds.) of debris, covering 138\u00a0lane miles. A total of 12 tons of asphalt were used patching potholes and making street repairs in June. Considerable time was spent mowing weeds in City right-of-ways. The Seasonal Worker position was filled in June and began followup work behind the mower in the right-of-ways.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: inherit\"><strong>PARKS \/ OTHER &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>Irrigation demand really increased with the unusually dry and hot weather we had in June.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Irrigation time was extended at all parks to try and compensate.
