Maximum day\u00a0production\u00a0was 1.24 MG on April 7th. 9.06\u00a0inches of rainfall were recorded at the water treatment plant site during the month. CH2M&#8217;s\u00a0recent process optimization work resulted in the reduction of the primary coagulant and filter aid used during April while improving finished water quality. The results from the most recent round of Disinfection By-Product (DBP) treatment options testing showed promising results using ascorbic acid and sodium ascorbate (Vitamin C) to reduce chlorine residual and DBPS. Quality Tank completed welding the new above-ground connections at\u00a0Sandercock reservoir.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WASTEWATER<\/strong><em><strong> \u2013\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>A total of 61,460,000 gallons of sewage were treated and discharged to Tickle Creek. Minimum flow was 1.22 MGD on the 3rd. Maximum flow was 1.28\u00a0MGD on the 26th. Rainfall was 0.50\u00a0inches on the 25th and 1.0\u00a0inches\u00a0on the 26th. A total of 6.05\u00a0inches\u00a0of rainfall were\u00a0recorded at the treatment plant site during April. BOD concentration was 8.0 mg\/l; BOD loading was 149 lbs; permit allows 10\u00a0mg\/l and 125\u00a0lbs.; SS concentration was 10.0\u00a0mg\/l; SS loading was 202 lbs.; permit allows 10 mg\/l and 125 lbs. \u00a0We exceeded the monthly average\u00a0for lbs of suspended solids and BOD discharged. No\u00a0sludge was processed, hauled or\u00a0spread during the month.<em>\u00a0<\/em>The domestic well pump failed and was replaced. The best information we have indicates that this pump had been in service since 1971.<em>\u00a0<\/em>The pumps at Marcy St.; Northside, Southside, Southeast, Southwest and Meinig Ave. lift stations ran a total of 456\u00a0hours with no significant problems.<\/p>\n<p><strong>STREETS<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>&amp;\u00a0STORM<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0The street sweeping contractor spent 58 hours sweeping streets and collected more than 20 tons (15 cu. yds.) of debris, covering 185\u00a0lane miles.\u00a0PW staff excavated a large failed section of pavement on Wolf Dr. on the 27th and a contractor repaved it on the 28th. This area was damaged by traffic and freeze-thaw action during the cold weather in December and January.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PARKS, BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS \u2013 <\/strong>\u00a0PB&amp;G staff tried to\u00a0keep up with\u00a0spring mowing when the weather cooperated.
