{"id":610,"date":"2022-05-13T18:03:56","date_gmt":"2022-05-13T18:03:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/publicworks\/?p=610"},"modified":"2022-05-13T18:03:56","modified_gmt":"2022-05-13T18:03:56","slug":"public-works-monthly-report-april-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/publicworks\/2022\/05\/13\/public-works-monthly-report-april-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"PUBLIC WORKS \u2013 Monthly Report \u2013 April 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link\"><strong>WATER:<\/strong><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong><em>Alder Creek<\/em><\/strong> had a Peak Day production of 0.606 MG on April 13<sup>th<\/sup>.<br><\/li><li><strong><em>Alder Creek<\/em><\/strong> water plant production net of backwash water used was 11.15 MG.<br><\/li><li><strong><em>Brownell Springs<\/em><\/strong> production was a total of 2.30 MG and Peak Day production was on April 27th with a total of 250,380 gallons.<br><\/li><li><strong><em>Portland Water Bureau<\/em><\/strong> source production was a total of 17,986,097 gallons with a Peak Day production of 1,826,507 on April 17<sup>th<\/sup>.<br><\/li><li>We recorded a total of 9.23 inches of rainfall at the water plant with peak rainfall on April 10<sup>th<\/sup> with a total of 1.52 inches.<br><\/li><li><strong>EQUIPMENT ISSUES:<\/strong> A Power outage on April 16<sup>th\u00a0 <\/sup>caused loss of SCADA setpoints throughout the system, resulting in additional PWB water taken\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link\"><strong>WASTEWATER<\/strong><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>On April 13<sup>th<\/sup> the Peak day flow was 2.95 MG and there was .71 inches of rainfall.\u00a0 The day before on April 12<sup>th<\/sup>, 0.70 inches of rainfall were recorded.<br><\/li><li>A total of 41.7 MG of sewage was treated in the month of April.<br><\/li><li>Monthly rainfall recorded at the plant was 7.99 inches with a peak of 1.00 inches on the 11<sup>th<\/sup> of April.<br><\/li><li>431,970 gallons of sludge were dewatered, processed and landfilled during April.<br><\/li><li>Monthly Average Effluent BOD was 8.5 mg\/l and the April monthly average for TSS was 13.6 mg\/l.<br><\/li><li><strong>EQUIPMENT ISSUES:<\/strong><br>* IMLR Pump 1 returned to Service on April 7<sup>th<\/sup>.<br>* BFP Polymer mixing system failure on April 13<sup>th<\/sup>.<br>* BFP stator and expansion joint failure on April 14<sup>th<\/sup>.<br>* Major power outage and loss of SCADA controls on April 16<sup>th<\/sup><br>\u00a0 \u00a0 (ongoing issues for several days)<br>* BFP Polymer system repaired and returned to service on April 22<sup>nd<\/sup>.<br><\/li><li><strong>PERMIT EXCEEDANCES OR EXCURSIONS:<\/strong> \u00a0<br>* Ammonia daily exceedance on April 18<sup>th<\/sup>.<br>* Effluent TSS weekly exceedance on April 12<sup>th<\/sup>.<br>* Effluent TSS monthly exceedance<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link\"><strong>STREETS<\/strong>:<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The City\u2019s street sweeping contractor removed 16 cubic yards of debris.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link\"><strong>STORMWATER<\/strong>:<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>With the heavy rains during the month of April, there was localized flooding with a sizeable flood at Meinig Park.
