{"id":689,"date":"2023-02-13T11:53:36","date_gmt":"2023-02-13T11:53:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/publicworks\/?p=689"},"modified":"2023-02-13T11:53:36","modified_gmt":"2023-02-13T11:53:36","slug":"public-works-january-2023-monthly-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/publicworks\/2023\/02\/13\/public-works-january-2023-monthly-report\/","title":{"rendered":"PUBLIC WORKS &#8211; JANUARY 2023 Monthly Report"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-vivid-cyan-blue-to-vivid-purple-gradient-background has-background wp-element-button\"><strong>WATER<\/strong><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><em>Alder Creek<\/em><\/strong> had a Peak Day production of 1.122 MG on January 19, 2023<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em>Alder Creek<\/em><\/strong> water plant production net of backwash water used was 16.961 MG<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em>Brownell Springs<\/em><\/strong> production was a total of 6.47 MG and Peak Day production was on January 21<sup>st<\/sup> with a total of 208,740 gallons.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em>Portland Water Bureau<\/em><\/strong> source production was a total of 6,146,527 gallons with a Peak Day production of 293,465 gallons on January 21, 2023.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We recorded a total of 4.84 inches of rainfall at the water plant with peak rainfall on January 14<sup>th<\/sup> with a total of 0.52 inches.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-container-core-buttons-is-layout-c07eda73 wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\"><strong><em>Equipment Issues (Water):<\/em><\/strong><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><em>January 29, 2023 &#8211; Filter 3 EFF Pump Faulted. Chlorine pump continued to run with filter 3 raw water pump on all night injecting Chlorine into the pipe before the filter to waste and distribution valve at the injection point.  Approx. 900 K of water was released out the waste gate (unchlorinated). When the plant was back online, the buildup of chlorine in the pipe was released as a large slug to the pond. Approx. 12 gallons of chlorine was pumped into the pipe overnight. Residual in the pond at 2 pm was 0.4 ppm total chlorine.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-background wp-element-button\" style=\"background:linear-gradient(135deg,rgb(254,205,165) 0%,rgb(181,100,100) 17%,rgb(254,45,45) 50%,rgb(107,0,62) 100%)\"><strong>WASTEWATER<\/strong><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A total of 45.65 MG of sewage was treated in the month of January.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On January 19<sup>th<\/sup> the Peak day flow was 1.96 MG.0.05 inches of rainfall was recorded the day before and 0.39 inches the day of.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Monthly rainfall recorded at the plant was 3.85 inches with a peak of 0.41 inches on January 12<sup>th<\/sup>.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>868,210 gallons of sludge were dewatered, processed and landfilled during January.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monthly Average Effluent- BOD: 7.1 &amp; TSS: 9.6<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\"><strong><em>Equipment Issues (Wastewater):<\/em><\/strong><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>01\/05\/2023 &#8211; Process water PSI issues preventing BFP to run at full speed. Continued until Jan 27.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>01\/06\/2023 &#8211; Process water pipe broken. Unable to run BFP<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>01\/09\/23 &#8211; Replaced spray nozzles\/gaskets, front and back seals, retaining rings for BFP belt spray box.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>01\/12\/2023 &#8211; Switched out process water pump #1<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>01\/13\/2023 &#8211; Clarifier 2 jammed by sludge blanket monitor. Emptied clarifier 2 for retrieval of fallen piece of sludge blanket monitor. Process water pumps 1 &amp; 2 pulled, cleaned and reinstalled. When Clarifier 2 was put back online, Clarifier 1 was overwhelmed with solids (15 foot blankets) blinding tertiary filters.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>01\/18\/23 &#8211; Ras 2 pulled\/ragball in impeller.
