{"id":36,"date":"2017-05-03T23:10:50","date_gmt":"2017-05-03T23:10:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/transit\/?p=36"},"modified":"2017-05-03T23:14:58","modified_gmt":"2017-05-03T23:14:58","slug":"transit-staff-report-april","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/transit\/2017\/05\/03\/transit-staff-report-april\/","title":{"rendered":"Transit Staff Report &#8211; April 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Total ridership this month was 10,488, compared to 10,446 riders in 2016.\u00a0 The SAM-Gresham ridership increased by 2.3%.\u00a0 STAR ridership increased by 6.5%.\u00a0 The Elderly and Disabled program (out-of-town medical rides) experienced a 64.3% increase and the new Shopper Shuttle experienced a 50.8% increase over the first month of implementation.<\/p>\n<p>The SAM Estacada route experienced a decrease of 24.9%.\u00a0 This route continues monthly growth in ridership since the route changes in November of 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Transit held another transit training in April.\u00a0 Muna arranged a guided training for residents of the Whispering Pines retirement home in Estacada.\u00a0 Muna and 15 senior citizens rode the SAM Estacada route to the Transit Center, had a brief snack at Joe\u2019s Donuts, and rode the SAM Estacada evening run back.\u00a0 The seniors were thankful to have someone help them learn to navigate the transit system to get to Sandy for shopping and recreation.\u00a0 This type of training is integral to the continued independence of senior citizens in our communities.<\/p>\n<p>Staff and several TAC members attended Transit Day at the Capitol.\u00a0 Heather Michet, (Chair) Joseph Lowe (Vice Chair), Caren Topliff (STFAC member), Roxy Tolva (resident), Muna and Andi met with Representative Mark Johnson, heard from Senator Beyer and Governor Kate Brown regarding the much anticipated Transportation Package, observed Senate and House sessions and spoke with staff from Senator Chuck Thomsen\u2019s office.\u00a0 It was a great opportunity to say thank you for their service to our community and speak with them about the importance of SAM and other connecting rural routes, such as Mount Hood Express and Mount Hood Villages Shuttle.\u00a0 The Transportation Package is anxiously awaited as many sub committees have suggested transit funding as an integral part of any proposed package.<\/p>\n<p>Sandy received $9,900 for the Dodge Caravan that was surplused in April.\u00a0 The van bid was won by a young man who is a paraplegic due to an\u00a0accident.\u00a0 Muna and Andi delivered the van to his home in Portland.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Total ridership this month was 10,488, compared to 10,446 riders in 2016.\u00a0 The SAM-Gresham ridership increased by 2.3%.\u00a0 STAR ridership increased by 6.5%.\u00a0 The Elderly and Disabled program (out-of-town medical rides) experienced a 64.3% increase and the new Shopper Shuttle &hellip; <a href=\"https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/transit\/2017\/05\/03\/transit-staff-report-april\/\">Continue reading <span class=\"meta-nav\">&rarr;<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":20,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-36","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/transit\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/36","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/transit\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/transit\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/transit\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/20"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/transit\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=36"}],"version-history":[{"count":5,"href":"https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/transit\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/36\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":43,"href":"https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/transit\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/36\/revisions\/43"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/transit\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=36"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/transit\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=36"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/reports.cityofsandy.com\/transit\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=36"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
