Vista Apartments – 56 kids came to do literacy and STEM activities (writing poetry)

Teen Programs

Special
SOLV-IT – 5 teens helped clean up Meinig Park.

 

 

Ongoing
MakerSpace – 64 teens.  Worked on the Teen Learning Garden (behind the Library), and made slime and oobleck.

Game Factory – 32 teens

Anime Club – 26 teens

T-LAB – 11 teens came to plan future programs.

Adult Programs
Special
Poetry Slam – 97 people came to the Poetry Slam this year! We had 30 contestants participating.  Thank you to all the contestants who bravely shared their original poems with the audience.  You were all amazing! And thank you to our host Mick Dack and all of the judges.

Poetry Open Mic – 9 people attended at Hoodland.

Papermaking – 9 people came to learn how to make paper from used paper. Laurel Bates works for Clackamas County Refuse and Recycling Association to provide waste reduction assistance and education.

Wellness Series Hoodland – 4 people attended Genevieve White’s Getting a Good Night’s Sleep.

Seed Library
Sweets and Wine – We talked to 25 people at the Buddha Kat/Chamber Event about the Sandy Seed Library.

Seed Library Volunteers – 16 volunteers stuffed seed packets for us.

To Seed or Not to Seed – 13 people came to the Master Gardener discussion on starting vegetables from seeds and transplants.

Ongoing
Library Coffee House – 188 people came to listen to the Beltaine, a Celtic Fusion band that features hammered dulcimer, guitar, flute, accordion and vocals.

ESOL Tutoring – 65 learners met with 51 tutors in 37 tutoring sessions to work on their English Language skills.

Paint Nite – 18 people attended adult Paint Nite with Melissa Lawrence.

Book Clubs – Men’s – 16 people discussed Guns, Germs, and Steel; The Fates of Human Societies, and Astrophysics for People in a Hurry, Mystery – 12 people discussed Breaking Silence and Gone Missing, Women’s – 10 people discussed Edgar Sawtelle, Hoodland 8 people discussed The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nightime

Photography Club – 5 people came to take photos on a walk around Sandy.
