Continued planning for Winterfest, with a focus on developing strategies to make the event more financially sustainable in future years.
WinterFest Jingle Jog & Walk: This year, we are excited to introduce a new community event where participants can register to celebrate the season with a festive jog or walk. Runners and walkers will be encouraged to dress in their most spirited holiday attire, adding a fun and lively atmosphere to the event.
Jolly Trolley Planning: Met with the Transit Department to discuss dates, times, and possible improvements to the Jolly Trolley service. One idea being considered is adjusting the route so it begins and ends at Meinig Park, allowing riders additional time to enjoy the holiday lights and activities in the park.
Holiday Tree: Collaborated with Tiana Rundell to select the 40-foot holiday tree that will be installed and decorated in the Plaza as one of Winterfest’s key attractions.
In addition to Winterfest planning:
Assisted with the second round of interviews for the Parks and Facilities position.
Continued onboarding and training new Building Monitors, which included CPR and First Aid certification. This training was extended not only to new hires but also to all permanent staff to ensure everyone is prepared for emergencies.
