It’s Summer Reading time! Packets for adults, teens, and kids are ready for pick-up now! Plus we have lots of programs at Sandy Library, Hoodland Library, and Vista Apartments for school aged kids.

Longest Day Parkway – The library counted 260 people at it’s booth at the Longest Day Parkway! We gave away Summer Reading packets and popcorn. Checked out seeds from the seed library, and had a corn hole game where you could win $1 and $5 off your library fines!

OR7 (Journey) and other wolves in Oregon – 44 people attended to listen to the lead Wolf Biologist for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Oregon. His duties include monitoring wolf activity, capture and collaring, and working with livestock producers to implement deterrence measures to minimize livestock attacks.
ADRC: A Doorway to Support, Wellness and Community – 7 people attended this program at Hoodland Library presented by the Aging and Disability Resource Connection.
Seed Library
How to feed yourself without an acre of land – 17 people attended to hear presenter, Kris LaMar discuss how to maximize the space you have, and what plants will need the smallest amount of room while supplying the maximum yield.

The Public Library’s Role during Elections: Voter Education in the Age of Misinformation – 3 staff members (Maureen, Thea, Rebecca) attended this webinar.
Meetings
The Library Advisory met this month. They provided feedback on the county-wide Strategic Plan that LINCC is working on.
Sarah and Thea attended a meeting of the Boring & Damascus Community Connection to learn more about what they do and see if there are more partnership opportunities.
Suzanne Murray left the Library after 18 years of service! We celebrated with pancakes (her favorite!)
Friends
Friends of Sandy Library are holding their annual book bag sale on the sidewalk on the west side of the library on July 13th and 14th! Come buy a bag for $5 or $7 and fill it up!
Friends of Hoodland Library held a raffle. The winner received a signed Jane Kirkpatrick book, as well as local products.
