The Bornstedt Views subdivision: The plat for the Bornstedt Views subdivision to the east of Bornstedt Road and to the south of Jerger Street was recorded in June. This subdivision has 43 lots, two tracts for wetlands and stormwater retention, and links Maple Street to Averill Parkway. Staff have heard from Lennar as they may be purchasing all 43 lots.

Saint Michael’s Church Addition: The City held a pre-application conference with St. Michael’s Church on Langensand Road for the review of a future 1,535 square foot single story addition. The addition is proposed to be used for office and classroom space. The addition will be at the rear of the building and match the current façade and roof pitch of the existing building. Due to the moratorium, a full “Design Review” will be postponed until when the City releases additional sanitary sewer hookups.

Building Division Update:
Permits Issued = 36
C of O’s Issued = 1 for a single family home, and 2 for new businesses (no new ERUs associated with the two new businesses)
ERUs Issued = 5 single family homes and 2 duplex units

Fireworks Stands: The owners of TNT Fireworks and Big Bang Fireworks have received their annual temporary use permits for the sale of fireworks in the city of Sandy. They have setup multiple 20 by 40-foot tents in the parking lots of local businesses. The locations are as follows:   

  • 16625 362nd Ave – Fred Meyer Parking Lot
  • 38477 Proctor Blvd. – Wood Mizer Parking Lot
  • 37601 HWY 26 – Safeway Parking Lot
  • 38600 Proctor Blvd. – AntFarm Property

Code Enforcement Report:

  • 9 citations were issued in the month of June
    • 3 citations for violations of the sign code
    • 5 citations for junk accumulation at two different properties
    • 1 citation for removing street trees and failing to plant replacements trees
  • Extra attention was paid to noxious vegetation on properties along Proctor Blvd. and Pioneer Blvd. ahead of the Mountain Festival and parade.
  • All properties identified for having non-compliant driveway additions have come into compliance with modifications to allow for proper water runoff.
