July Ridership

In July 2026, overall ridership increased by 0.13%, providing 8,700 rides, when compared to July 2025.SAM-Gresham provided 6,093 rides a slight decrease of 1.47%. SAM-Estacada had a slightly higher decrease of 15.258, transporting 699 riders. SAM-Clackamas increased by 43.18%, providing 693 rides. The Shopper Shuttle provided 596 rides, an increase of 36.07%.

SAM rides had 816 passengers and that included the special runs for the Sandy Mountain Festival. We provided a north and south side route which more than doubled the number of festival riders. SAM also provided an uber like service from the Chamber’s Fair and Feast on Friday evening. This was a pilot program for on demand rides and we expect to do it again next year. SAM med transported 77 passengers, an increase of 1.32%

Sandy Mountain Festival Parade

SAM entered the Parade and won 1st place for the Civic award!! We had a full bus including the elusive SAMSquatch!! There were many delighted squeals as SAM rolled by waving to the crowd!

Sandy-Clackamas Partnership

We continue to have a cooperative partnership with Clackamas County, overseeing the operations of the Mt Hood Express. In July, Mt Hood express transported 3,689 passengers and the Villages Shuttle transported 979 riders. These are people who often work, shop or run errands in the city. In addition, we also provide medical transportation to the surrounding areas within the county. In July we transported 74 passengers on behalf of the County. This provides a regular stream of revenue for SAM. We received $5,347 in revenue from Mt Hood Express and $9,866.40 from SAM medical rides. We also receive $29,929.23 in reimbursement for FLAP funding. The total amount for July was $45,142.63.
