HR Report – January 2019

Another busy month for Human Resources! Overall, nine employees were brought on board. This included our new City Manager, Jordan Wheeler. The other eight employees are all referees, who will assist in the Recreation Department for youth basketball.

The department is actively working on updating internal policies and procedures, as well as reviewing the current personnel policies for a comprehensive update. This will be a more involved process, which will include the benefits committee, and brought before Council for final approval.

The Police Department is recruiting for an officer to fill the position that was opened when an employee left in November. Interviews were conducted for the Police Records Specialist, a position that has been open since March 2018.

HR staff members are also preparing personnel information for the upcoming budget process. In the coming months, staff will also begin working on contract negotiations with the Sandy Police Association.
