HR Report – March 2019

Contract negotiations continue with the Sandy Police Association. To date, negotiations have been very respectful, and staff has every indication that the progress we have seen will continue into future meetings.

In March the City had four new hires, and three separations. The four newly hired employees are working in the Library, Community Services, and Parks departments, in varying on-call or seasonal capacities. The separated employees included two on-call employees, and on long term employee. Joe Knapp, from our IT and SandyNet departments, has moved on to do other rewarding work. Joe has been a fixture in our city for over a decade and will be greatly missed. Greg Brewster has stepped in as Interim IT/SandyNet Director.

Interviews were conducted for the Patrol Officer. The applicant pool was very large, and staff is happy to report that a very qualified candidate in available for hire. Depending on the outcome of future Council meetings, an offer could be extended in the coming weeks.
