Monthly Report – July 2016

Fiber to the Home

We continue to see a consistent level of signups for service which is keeping the SandyNet staff very busy. The team is constructing 5 – 8 new service drops per week and performing 12-15 service installs per week. The take rate throughout the city is steadily growing, 65% of homes in our service area have requested connections to the fiber network. We currently have about 55% of the homes active on the service.

The 100 Mbps fiber service was upgraded to 300 Mbps at no cost to our subscribers this month. This update was received very well by our users and everyone seems to be enjoying the faster speeds.

Urban Renewal District

Engineering is underway for the fiber project in the urban renewal district. You may notice a few extra folks walking through town in safety vests with measuring wheels as they verify conduit paths and design new building drop connections.
