PUBLIC WORKS – Monthly Report – August 2022

WATER:

  • Alder Creek  had a Peak Day production of 1.365 MG on August 26th.
  • Alder Creek  water plant production net of backwash water used was 29.440 MG.
  • Brownell Springs production was a total of 9.4 MG and Peak Day production was on August 9th with a total of 426,180 gallons.
  • Portland Water Bureau  source production was a total of 15,403,775 gallons with a Peak Day production of 501,009 on August 11th.
  • We recorded a total of .13 inches of rainfall at the water plant with peak rainfall on August 9th with a total of .05 inches.
  • EQUIPMENT ISSUES:  N/A

WASTEWATER

  • On August 18th the Peak day flow was .79 MG and there was 0 .00 inches of rainfall. 
  • A total of 20.97 MG of sewage was treated in the month of August.
  • Monthly rainfall recorded at the plant was 0.00 inches in August.
  • 565,060 gallons of sludge were dewatered, processed and landfilled during August.
  • Monthly Average Effluent BOD & TSS (concentration) was RECYCLED in the month of August.
  • EQUIPMENT ISSUES: 
    * August 2nd  – Replace Bearing Draft Shaft Assembly (Belt Press).
    * August 3rd – Motor on Tertiary 1 replaced.
    * August 6th   – New HACH EFF Sampler installed.
    * August 11th  – Tertiary 1 carpet replaced.
    * August 12th  – Mechanical Seal Failure (Pista Grit)
                          – Headworks not connecting to generator w/ power outage
    * August 13th  – Blower 1 & 2 (Aeration) Oil leaking/filling sight glass past fill line and
    dropping oi (Tech called) Blower 3 – continued power trip
    * August 19th – Agri-plas hauled 50 empty drums offsite
                          – New Mechanical Seal installed on Pista Grit
    * August 22nd  – BFP feed pipe failure 08
    * August 23rd  – BFP back online
    * August 26th  – EFF Ultrasonic Level Sensor Failure

STREETS: The City’s street sweeping contractor removed 18 cubic yards of debris in August.
