PUBLIC WORKS – Monthly Report

OCTOBER 2022

WATER:

  • Alder Creek had a Peak Day production of 1.537 MG on October 25, 2022.
  • Alder Creek water plant production net of backwash water used was 18.532MG
  • Brownell Springs production was a total of 4.09 MG and Peak Day production was on October 18th with a total of 137,595 gallons.
  • Portland Water Bureau source production was a total of 13,945,225 gallons with a Peak Day production of 620,320 gallons on October 6th.
  • We recorded a total of 5.67 inches of rainfall at the water plant with peak rainfall on October 21st with a total of 1.28 inches.

EQUIPMENT ISSUES:
* CI-17 Failure (Terra Fern) Repaired colorimeter cell in CI-17
* Leaks increasing at Sandercock, new leak observed at the back of the reservoir.
* Pump 8 & 9 pulled at Terra Fern and out for repair.
* Pump 11 motor burned out and needs replacement at Terra Fern
* Did not meet CT’s Oct 21st and 22nd
* Pressure release valve replaced at Hudson

WASTEWATER

  • A total of 30.83 MG of sewage was treated in the month of September
  • On October 31st the Peak day flow was 1.62 MG. 0.01 inches of rainfall was recorded the day before and 1.08 on October 31st.
  • Monthly rainfall recorded at the plant was 3.55 inches with a peak of 1.08 inches on the 31st of October.
  • 500,780 gallons of sludge were dewatered, processed and landfilled during September.
  • Monthly Average Effluent BOD & TSS – N/A (Recycled)

EQUIPMENT ISSUES:
* RAS motors replace (1&2)
* Blower 1 pulled (10/13)
* Bearing overheating on BFP (10/13)
* Blower 1 leaking oil (10/14)
* Launder pulled on Clarifier 1 (10/20)
* TAG team working on PLC/MCC replacement (10/21)
* Pumps replaced in Cell 1 for decant water to solids.
* Blower 1 & 3 repaired ad back online (10/24)
* Diffusers/Air restored to AB2 – Both AB’s online (10/24)
* Clarifier 1 back online (10/31)
* Blower 4 will need maintenance

NPDES Permit Exceedances or Excursions: N/A

* Appreciation lunch – Hosted by PW as a Thank You to everyone who helps make everything happen.  This lunch also included one of our contractors Veolia who helps us manage the Water Treatment Plant.
