PUBLIC WORKS – Monthly Report – November 2022

WATER:

  • Alder Creek had a Peak Day production of 0.910 MG on November 6, 2022.
  • Alder Creek water plant production net of backwash water used was 19.141 MG
  • Brownell Springs production was a total of 6.82 MG and Peak Day production was on November 7th with a total of 429,120 gallons.
  • Portland Water Bureau source production was a total of 1,199,198 gallons with a Peak Day production of 326,670 gallons on November 4th.
  • We recorded a total of 11.86 inches of rainfall at the water plant with peak rainfall on November 4th with a total of 2.95 inches

EQUIPMENT ISSUES:
* NO Power / Loss of Leg “B” / Generator Power / Raw Water Pump Malfunction / High
Turbidity due to rain (11/4/22)
* NO Power / Loss of Leg “C” / Generator Power / High Turbidity due to rain (11/5/22)
* Return to PGE Power (11/6/22)
* Multiple Pump 7/10 malfunctions at Terra Fern

WASTEWATER:

  • A total of 47.49 MG of sewage was treated in the month of November.
  • On November 30th the Peak day flow was 3.67 MG.
    * 1.02 inches of rainfall was recorded the day before and 0.53 on December 1st.
  • Monthly rainfall recorded at the plant was 8.45 inches with a peak of 1.8 inches on the 5th of November.
  • 624,830 gallons of sludge were dewatered, processed and landfilled during November.
  • Monthly Average Effluent- BOD: 7.38 & TSS: 10.25

    EQUIPMENT ISSUES:
    * Low Flows through Clarifier 1 (entire month)
    * Sludge Blower 1 inoperative (November 2, 2022)
    * Moyno repair / replacement. Need additional repair to be fully operational
    (November 3,2022)
    * Bottleneck to Clarifier 1 (November 7, 2022)
    * Line Vac by the city for Clarifier 1 (November 10, 2022)
    * RAS in manual – Not connected to Scada.  WAS Scada Target Gallons to Waste Totals
    reflecting far less than is being pumped (November 16, 2022)
    * RAS 1 pulled – Bolt stuck in propeller (November 17, 2022)
    * UV Fail – Bulb for Module 1B14, 1B13, 1B12, 1B24, 1B23, 1B22, 1B31 replaced.
    – All wipers replaced for side 1B.
    – Hydraulic cylinder replaced for 1B12
    – Coolant pump repaired – second pump installed – Needs an overload switch
    – Ecoli Exceedance due to UV failure (November 17, 2022)
    * Disk Filter bypass due to heavy rains (1.55” in 24 hours & total INF Flow 3.67)
