PUBLIC WORKS – May Monthly Report

MAY 2024

WATER:

  • Alder Creek had a Peak Day production of 1.029 MG on May 14, 2024
  • Alder Creek water plant production net of backwash water used was 15.201 MG
  • Brownell Springs production was a total of 10.6 MG and Peak Day production was on May 29th  with a total of 408,795 gallons.
  • Portland Water Bureau source production was a total of 6.39 MG with a Peak Day production of 208,451 gallons on May 31st
  • We recorded a total of 7.76 inches of rainfall at the water plant with peak rainfall on May 21st with a total of 1.27 inches.

EQUIPMENT ISSUES:

Wall-Pak lights installed on outside of WTP building for night-time safety

WASTEWATER:

  • Total INF Flow was 42.83 MG and EFF Flow was 32.12
  • Power Consumption (kWh): 130, 400 kWh
  • On May 5th the Peak day flow was 3.65 MGD
    0.38 inches of rainfall was recorded the day before and 1.33 inches the day of.A
  • Monthly rainfall recorded at the plant was 4.49 inches with a peak of 1.33 inches on May 5th.
  • 0.73MG of sludge was dewatered, processed and landfilled during January.
  • Monthly Average Effluent- BOD: 7.1 & TSS: 9.6

EQUIPMENT ISSUES:

  • 5/1 – Switch made to summer discharge at Iseli’s Nursery
  • 5/5 – Recycle water pumps failed due to suspected airlock, temp pump hooked up by city crew for redundancy.
  • 5/6 – Process water pump #1 pulled and replaced.
  • 5/15 -PSI Setpoint changes to blower controls to achieve reduction in aeration basin DO and improve settleability.
  • 5/21 – Clarifier 1 drive motor replaced
