PW MONTHLY REPORT ~ JUNE 2022

WATER:

  • Alder Creek  had a Peak Day production of 0.901 MG on June 30th.
  • Alder Creek  water plant production net of backwash water used was 11.66 MG.
  • Brownell Springs production was a total of 7.03 MG and Peak Day production was on June 7th with a total of 435,615 gallons.
  • Portland Water Bureau  source production was a total of 13,757,517 gallons with a Peak Day production of 614,468 on June 17th.
  • We recorded a total of 9.28 inches of rainfall at the water plant with peak rainfall on June 10th with a total of 2.51 inches.
  • Equipment Issues:  None noted.

WASTEWATER

  • On June 10th the Peak day flow was 3.74 MG and there was 1.35 inches of rainfall.  The day before on March 9th, no rainfall was recorded.
  • A total of 42.52 MG of sewage was treated in the month of June.
  • Monthly rainfall recorded at the plant was 6.03 inches with a peak of 2.00 inches on June 11th.
  • 1,170,280 gallons of sludge were dewatered, processed and landfilled during June.
  • Monthly Average Effluent BOD and the June monthly average for TSS was reported as N/A (recycled).
  • Equipment Issues: 
    June 12th – Overflow led to clogged process pumps.  Replaced both.
    June 22nd – Disk filter 1 drive motor failed. Replacement options are being investigated
  • Permit Exceedances or Excursions: 
    June 10th – Large rain event led to emergency discharge into Tickle Creek

    STREETS:

The City’s street sweeping contractor removed 16 cubic yards of debris.

Public Works – MAY Monthly Report

WATER:

  • Alder Creek had a Peak Day production of 0.733 MG on May 30th.
  • Alder Creek water plant production net of backwash water used was 8.148 MG.
  • Brownell Springs production was a total of 7.16 MG and Peak Day production was on May 7th with a total of 355,425 gallons.
  • Portland Water Bureau source production was a total of 13,794,001 gallons with a Peak Day production of 500,276 gallons on May 21st.
  • We recorded a total of 9.66 inches of rainfall at the water plant with peak rainfall on May 13th with a total of 1.35 inches.
  • EQUIPMENT ISSUES: None noted

WASTEWATER

  • On May 7th the Peak day flow was 4.51 MG with .81 inches of rainfall.  The day before on May 6th, 1.01 inches of rainfall were recorded.
  • A total of 46.2 MG of sewage was treated in the month of May.
  • Monthly rainfall recorded at the plant was 7.16 inches with a peak of 1.01 inches on the 6th of May.
  • 1,408,740 gallons of sludge were dewatered, processed and landfilled during May.
  • Monthly Average Effluent BOD & TSS / NO PERMIT REQUIREMENT

EQUIPMENT ISSUES:

  • Seasonal switchover complete – 5/2/22
  • Process water line break repaired by clarifier 2 – 5/2/22
  • RAS/WAS room sump pump out of service – 5/11/22
  • Stator and flex coupler for solids conveyance line repaired – 5/13/22
  • New O&M Tech Brent started – 5/16/22
  • Polyblend cylinder repaired, belt filter press operational again – 5/18/22
  • Drained aeration basin 1 for construction – 5/24/22

    STREETS:

The City’s street sweeping contractor removed 32 cubic yards of debris and traveled 189 miles.

PUBLIC WORKS – Monthly Report – April 2022

  • Alder Creek had a Peak Day production of 0.606 MG on April 13th.
  • Alder Creek water plant production net of backwash water used was 11.15 MG.
  • Brownell Springs production was a total of 2.30 MG and Peak Day production was on April 27th with a total of 250,380 gallons.
  • Portland Water Bureau source production was a total of 17,986,097 gallons with a Peak Day production of 1,826,507 on April 17th.
  • We recorded a total of 9.23 inches of rainfall at the water plant with peak rainfall on April 10th with a total of 1.52 inches.
  • EQUIPMENT ISSUES: A Power outage on April 16th  caused loss of SCADA setpoints throughout the system, resulting in additional PWB water taken                     
  • On April 13th the Peak day flow was 2.95 MG and there was .71 inches of rainfall.  The day before on April 12th, 0.70 inches of rainfall were recorded.
  • A total of 41.7 MG of sewage was treated in the month of April.
  • Monthly rainfall recorded at the plant was 7.99 inches with a peak of 1.00 inches on the 11th of April.
  • 431,970 gallons of sludge were dewatered, processed and landfilled during April.
  • Monthly Average Effluent BOD was 8.5 mg/l and the April monthly average for TSS was 13.6 mg/l.
  • EQUIPMENT ISSUES:
    * IMLR Pump 1 returned to Service on April 7th.
    * BFP Polymer mixing system failure on April 13th.
    * BFP stator and expansion joint failure on April 14th.
    * Major power outage and loss of SCADA controls on April 16th
        (ongoing issues for several days)
    * BFP Polymer system repaired and returned to service on April 22nd.
  • PERMIT EXCEEDANCES OR EXCURSIONS:  
    * Ammonia daily exceedance on April 18th.
    * Effluent TSS weekly exceedance on April 12th.
    * Effluent TSS monthly exceedance
  • The City’s street sweeping contractor removed 16 cubic yards of debris.
  • With the heavy rains during the month of April, there was localized flooding with a sizeable flood at Meinig Park. Public Works staff responded and checked the flow control station located in the parking lot.

Konell Construction was notified of intent to award the contract for 362nd & Bell St construction (April 26, 2022)

Public Works fixed a water leak at the location where AntFarm holds their annual Farmers Market. (see below)
