ESOL Tutoring – We held our first group event with tutors and learners, sang holiday songs and had a meal together.  22 people attended!  26 learners and 27 tutors had sessions.

Two ESOL anecdotes:
One of the tutors had an extra ticket to the ballet. She invited one of the students to attend with her. The two women had a wonderful time, as well as a real world opportunity to practice English.
A 5 year-old at Vista Library program saw me handing out reminders to some of the kids re: the ESOL holiday gathering. She wanted to take one to her mom (who was not a student) and since the event was open to anyone interested in ESOL, I said sure, assuming it unlikely that the mom would come. Well the little girl did end up bringing her mom and the mom is now a student!
