Library Activities: January 2022

We will be starting some limited in-person programs in February!

Plant Swap Sunday, February 13th 1:00-3:00 pm in the Sandy Library Community Room
Bring a plant cutting to share or adopt a new one to take home.

After School Kids’ Club
Sandy – Tuesday, February 15th 3:00 – 4:30pm. Make & Take program will be the third Tuesday each month in the Community Room.
Hoodland – Friday, February 18th 4:00 – 5:00 pm. Make & Take program will be the third Friday of each month in the Community Room.
***Our Take & Make kits for kids will be available on February 15th as usual with an additional video on Facebook in case you can’t make it to the Make & Take program!***

Teen Space Wednesday, February 23rd 2:30 – 4:00 pm. Come hang out, watch anime, and get creative!

Storytime
Sandy – starting Thursday, February 24th 10:00 – 11:00 am at Meinig Park Gazebo. Thursdays 10:00 – 11:00 am.
Hoodland – Fridays 10:30 am in the Community Room.

February is Black History Month Find resources on our Library Blog.

Craft for a Cause 
In partnership with Mt. Hood Hospice to provide warmth and comfort to patients receiving end-of-life care. Knit or crochet a shawl or lap blanket.  In January we received 13 shawls and lap blankets.  This program will continue through the end of February.

Mobile Printing Send prints from your smartphone, tablet, or laptop.  Once the print job is sent, it will sit in a queue waiting to be released to print.  Call the library on the same day to have staff release the print job. Pick up your prints in person or through our Curbside Service.  

Sandy – 23 users printed 73 jobs (220 pages)
Hoodland – 7 users printed 13 jobs (18 pages)

Library Cards Sandy patrons created 20 ecards (83 new library accounts in person), Hoodland patrons created 3 ecards (9 in person).

Checkouts 
Sandy – 2474 sessions. This averages 85 sessions/day (up from 81 last month) 9756 items
Hoodland – 614 sessions.  This averages 27 sessions/day (up from 24 last month) 2467 items

We checked out a total of 12,223 items(up from last month’s 10,977) through curbside pickup and browsing.
