Chalk Art
Sandy Library hosted chalk artists in the Arts Commission project Only Rain Down the Drain chalk art competition.  You can still see many of the entries from the competition around the library.

Mountain Festival Parade
The Sandy Library along with Creatures of the Night (Library Haunt) and Volunteers/Friends of the Library were in the parade this year!  We won Best Community Entry.

Friends of the Library Sidewalk Bag Sale
The Friends held their annual sidewalk sale, and did great business. All proceeds from the Friends of the Library goes to directly support library programming.  Thanks Friends!

Gresham Little Theater – 22 people attended to see highlights from Charlotte’s Web.
Cascade Crescendo – 250 people attended to listen to bluegrass music.

Mt. Hood’s Steiner Cabins, an Historical Overview – 27 people attended this lecture presented by Lloyd Musser, Curator at Mt Hood Cultural Center & Museum in Government Camp.

Planning and Planting a Fall & Winter Garden – 19 people attended to listen to Dennis Brown, Master Gardener.

Men’s – 11 people discussed the 2nd half of the Mueller Report by the Department of Justice.
Hoodland – 11 people discussed Still Life by Louise Penny.

Photography Group – 10 people listened to what it is like photographing the Fire Department.

Public Notary – Hoodland notarized 6 documents

Vista Apartments – 32 kids attended Summer Reading programs and did challenge worksheets.

ESOL tutoring – 50 tutors mets with 55 students in 21 days.
ESOL tutor meeting – 9 tutors attended to listen to Olga Gerberg from the Community Center.  Olga shared insights on cultural differences and talked about paths to citizenship.

Exhibits
Timberline Textiles is currently showing at Sandy Library.  This exhibit will be up through the end of September.

The Hoodland Library is currently exhibiting the watercolor and oil art of Lucas Nickerson of Oregon City.
