ODHS is in the Library. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00am – 3:00pm for drop-in assistance.

Mobile Printing Send prints from your smartphone, tablet, or laptop. Call the library on the same day to have staff release the print job. Pick up your prints in person or through our Curbside Service.

Kids Programs
Ongoing
Take & Make – 120 (100 Sandy and 20 Hoodland) Bell Tota. Take & Make available beginning on the 15th day of the month.  

Vista Apartments – 22 kids attended for literacy and STEM activities.

LEGO Club – Sandy 5 kids and 3 adults, Hoodland 7 kids and 6 adults

STEM Club – 7 kids and 10 adults came to do papercrafts

Read to the Dog – 11 kids attended to read to Tanis

Reading Tutoring – 26 one hour sessions of reading tutoring  at Sandy (1 tutor and 1 student each) 1 hour at Hoodland.

Storytimes
Storytime videos were posted in our Facebook Group: Sandy and Hoodland Libraries – Storytime Parents Group.  Use numbers were recorded after 1 week. All Storytimes were presented by librarian Monica Smith – unless otherwise noted.

Take & Make – 100 (85 Sandy and 15 Hoodland) Tiny Art Show. Take & Make available beginning on the 1st day of the month.

MakerSpace – 7 teens finished the fall session of our Makerspace Camp at the Community Center.  We made soap.

Teen Library Advisory Board (TLAB) – 2 teens attended

Adult Programs
Special
Seedy Saturday Seed Swap – 62 people brought seed to share or picked up seed to plant! A special thank you to Ace Hardware for their donation of the Children’s gardening tools to raffle ($90.96 value). In January we had $991.99 in seed donated by Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds, Peaceful Valley Farm & Garden Supply, and Portland Nursery. Please thank them next time you are in!

Take & Make – 100 (80 Sandy and 20 Hoodland) Beaded heart. Take & Make available beginning on the 15th day of the month.

Spanish Language Class – 16 people attended with one teacher

Creation Station – Creation Station is a twice monthly interactive program that welcomes adults with disabilities.  23 people attended on the 2nd Monday of the month and 21 attended on the 4th Monday.

ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Class – 7 people attended with 1 teacher
ESOL tutor – 12 one hour sessions (1 tutor and 1 student each)

Writing Group  – 26 people attended our writing group 

Fiber Arts Circle – 48 people attended in the Fireplace Room on Tuesday afternoons

Dungeons & Dragons – 6 people attended 

Computer Classes – 2 people attended Internet Basics and 1 attended Microsoft Word classes

Book Clubs
Women’s Book Club – 16 people discussed Rules of Civility by Amor Towles
Men’s Book Club – 10 people discussed Piranha by Clive Cussler
Digital Book Club – 5 people discussed their favorite books from 2023

Public Notary – Hoodland 11

Exhibits
Sandy resident Kimberly Nelson’s acrylic paintings will be shown at the Sandy Library through March 7th.
