Library Activities: September 2020

September was a tough month with wildfires, evacuations, and library closures.  We sent all staff in the buildings home around 2pm on September 10th when Sandy went into evacuation level 2, and didn’t have staff back in the building until Saturday, September 19th.  We had to rent air scrubbers to get the smoke out of the building to make it safe for staff to enter. We resumed curbside pick-up of holds on Sunday, September 20th.

We started Computers by Appointment at Sandy on September 21st!  In the first 3 weeks we had 33 people schedule appointments and use the computers (we have capacity for 63/week or 189 for 3 weeks).

We’ve spaced out our old computers and photocopier/printer in the Community Room to allow for social distancing and temporarily made printing free.  An appointment is required to use the computer lab.  Appointments are for 1 hour.  Face masks must be worn the entire time. Restrooms are currently unavailable.  Please also keep in mind that due to social distancing, staff are very limited in the assistance that can be provided.  If you will require assistance using a computer, we suggest bringing a family member or friend with you to the appointment.
Computer Lab Hours:
Saturday & Sunday: 1 pm to 4 pm
Monday, Wednesday, & Friday: 10 am to 1 pm
Tuesday & Thursday:  2 pm to 5 pm
