Oregon Department of Human Services (DHS)
DHS is back in the Library!  Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00am – 3:00pm.

Computer Users
Sandy 540 sessions
Hoodland 92 sessions

Mobile Printing Send prints from your smartphone, tablet, or laptop.  Once the print job is sent, it will sit in a queue waiting to be released to print.  Call the library on the same day to have staff release the print job. Pick up your prints in person or Curbside Service.  
Sandy – 34 users printed 146 jobs (485 pages)
Hoodland – 20 users printed 54 jobs (212 pages)

Library Cards  Sandy patrons created 12 ecards (131 cards total) Hoodland 3 (24 cards total).

Checkouts 
Sandy – 2471 sessions. This averages 80 sessions/day (84 last month) 9330 items
Hoodland – 593 sessions.  This averages 23 sessions/day (25 last month) 2133 items

We checked out a total of 11,463 items(up from last month’s 11,371) curbside pickup and browsing.

Kids Programs
Special
Trick or Treat Trail – 1157 people participated

Ongoing
Vista Apartments – 73 kids and 15 adults attended programs presented by My Voice Music, and staff working with the kids on weaving looms, scratch art, and a STEM day with new items selected with a grant in coordination with Catholic Charities.

Sandy After School Kids’ Club – 28 kids and 18 adults made LEGO creations at LEGO Club and Watercolor Art at our STEM Club. Hoodland After School Kids’ Club – 3 kids and 1 adult.

Take & Make – 45 kids (40 Sandy, 5 Hoodland) picked up Mini Pumpkins for our pumpkin decorating contest.  Our Take & Make kits for kids are available on the 15th with an additional video on Facebook in case you can’t make it to the Make & Take program!

Reading Tutoring – 9 one hour sessions of reading tutoring (1 tutor and 1 student each).

Storytimes
Storytime videos were posted in our Facebook Group: Sandy and Hoodland Libraries – Storytime Parents Group.  Use numbers were recorded after 1 week. All Storytimes were presented by librarian Monica Smith – unless otherwise noted.

Teen Programs

Take and Make – 94 teens (82 Sandy, 12 Hoodland) picked up a mini pumpkin for our pumpkin decorating contest.   Teen Take & Makes are available on the 1st of the month.

Anime Club – 22 teens attended to watch anime.

Tamales! Tamales! Tamales! – 50 people attended our Tamale making class presented by Antfarm at Antfarm.

Dia de los Muertos – 37 people attended our craft program.

Ongoing
Take & Make – 100 people  (80 Sandy, 20 Hoodland) picked up supplies for Halloween String Art.  Adult Take & Makes are available starting on the 15th of the month.

American Red Cross Blood Drive – We held 2 in October 51 people attended, 47 units of blood collected

ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Class – 7 people attended
ESOL tutor – 6 1 hour sessions (1 tutor and 1 student each)

Writing Group  – 6 people attended our writing group 

Computer Classes: Keyboard and Mouse – 1 person, Internet Basics – 2 people

Book a Librarian – We helped 1 person with their computer
