Library Activities: November 2020

Public Works Installed the tree in Centennial Plaza, and Holiday Decorators were busy getting it ready for the Tree Lighting Drive-Thru and Livestream Event! The library is getting dressed up for winter.

Computers by Appointment at Sandy we had 96 people schedule appointments and use the computers.  Halfway through the month we changed from 3 appointments to one appointment per hour, reducing our available computer appointments by ⅔.  Our new capacity is 21 appointments/week.  At Hoodland we had 8 people schedule appointments to use the computers.  Capacity at Hoodland is 12 appointments/week.  People need to call to make an appointment.

Saturday & Sunday: 1 pm to 4 pm Monday 12 pm -2 pm
Monday, Wednesday, & Friday: 10 am to 1 pm Tuesday – Saturday 2 pm – 4pm
Tuesday & Thursday:  2 pm to 5 pm

Mobile Printing People are definitely catching on to our mobile printing services.  Send prints from your smartphone, tablet, or laptop.  Once the print job is sent, it will sit in a que waiting to be released to print.  Call the library to have staff release the print job in the que to print. Pick up your prints through our Curbside Service.  Prints must be picked up the same day the print job is sent.  For a limited time, printing is free of charge.

Sandy – 22 users printed 80 jobs (329 pages)
Hoodland 9 users printed 21 jobs (134 pages)

Curbside pickup of holds Pickup at Sandy is 10am-4pm Monday-Saturday and 12-4pm on Sunday.  At Hoodland 10am-12pm Monday and 12-2pm Tuesday-Friday. 

Sandy – 1556 pickups in 28 days.  This averages 56 pickups/day(down from 57 last month). 
Hoodland – 329 pickups in 23 days.  Averages 14 pickups/day(down from 16 last month).
We checked out a total of 6659 items(up from last month’s 5693) through curbside pickup!

Every day on the Sandy Public Library Friends Facebook Page, Thea Ellen has been posting an Early Literacy Activity to do with kids, a storytime with a famous person, something about a current topic and a Library resource or other current available resource.

Virtual Storytimes
All of the following videos were posted in our Facebook Group: Sandy and Hoodland Libraries – Storytime Parents Group.  Use numbers were recorded after 1 week. All Storytimes were presented by librarian Monica Smith.
