Giving Tree
We are currently collecting new or homemade hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, socks, as well as, personal care producats for the Sandy Community Action Center and the Hoodland Christmas Baskets.

Pokemon Club – 5 kids and 3 parents
Science Saturday – 4 kids and 2 parents
Art Club – Sandy 2 kids and 1 parent, Hoodland 3 kids and 2 parents

Storytime:
Wee Ones – 56 kids and 38 parents
Preschool – 32 kids and 27 parents
Hoodland – 5 kids and 5 parents

Read to the Dog – 5 kids read to our new dog Seinfeld! Stop by on Tuesdays between 3:30 – 4:30 to meet Seinfeld.

Reading Tutoring – 2 tutors met with 2 kids on 2 days

Teen Programs

Tear down of the Library Haunt and after party

Ongoing
TeenSpace – 73 teens attended (22 attended to learn how to mix their own chai tea)

Adult Programs
Special
Dia de los Muertos – 106 people attended to do Day of the Dead activities including painting skull cookies.

Library Coffeehouse – 67 people attended to listen to the music of Ellen Whyte. Thank you to Mountain Moka for the coffee donation!

Line Dancing – 21 people came to learn how to line dance from local teacher Lynn Wunische.

Paint Nite – 20 people attended to paint step-by-step with Melissa Lawrence.

Book Clubs:
Men’s – 12 people discussed Educated by Tara Westover.
Hoodland – 10 people discussed Paragon Hotel by Lyndsay Faye.
Women’s – 10 people discussed The Female Persuasion by Meg Wolitzer.

Photography Group – 9 people came to the Show – No – Tell event. Participants critiqued images related to the theme: darkness.

Ongoing
Vista Apartments – 46 kids did literacy and STEM activities, and challenge worksheets.

ESOL tutoring – 50 tutors met with 58 students on 25 days

Department of Human Services – 4 people were served, SNAP benefit information and assistance with Workforce/ ADP.

LINCC (Libraries IN Clackamas County) had a table at the Portland Book Festival.  Thank you to Thea Ellen for representing Sandy Public Library!

Antfarm shared some great produce with Library patrons last month!

Building
Exhibits
Clackamas County Arts Alliance changed out their exhibit at the Sandy Library. Stop by the Library before March 5th to see the oil paintings of Christopher Bekins.

Training
Librarian Monica Smith attended the Oregon Afterschool Conference where they discussed afterschool programs.

Meetings
The Library Advisory Board met to discuss recommendations to Jordan Wheeler for the County-wide taskforce on Libraries. Jordan officially appointed these people on December 1st:
Main Task Force: Jordan Wheeler, Sarah McIntyre
Library Services Subcommittee: Lynne Pollard, Heather Michet (Library Board Members)
Library Funding Subcommittee: Tyler Deems, Lynne Pollard
District Governance Subcommittee: Kathleen Draine and TBD
In addition, Sarah McIntyre will be attending all the meetings as the Chair of the County Library Directors Group, and Councillor Shultz plans to attend the meetings.
