Last year we did the Library Summer Reading program at Vista, and didn’t have any finishers.  So this year we tailored the program to run more like our school year program with specific challenges.  And we got 14 finishers!  A great result.

Stop the Cravings – 13 people came to listen to Genevieve White discuss how to lose weight for good by creating your own diet.

Seed Library
Mt Hood Farmers Market – talked to  90 people, checked out 42 seed packets.

Saving Seeds – 19 people attended this class taught by Cindy Manselle of Clackamas County Master Gardeners.

Ongoing
Coffee House –  72 people came to listen to Terry Robb, Portland’s blues guitar virtuoso.

Paint Nite –  13 people came to paint with Melissa Lawrence.  We had a last minute date change.  Paint Nite’s will now be on Saturday evenings.

Book Group – Men’s 9 people came to discuss Peace like a River by Leif Enger, Hoodland 9 people came to discuss The Dog Stars by Peter Heller.

Photography Group – Mike Earussi taught 6 of us how to mount a photograph to a rigid acrylic backing for a cheap, but great looking display option.

ESOL tutoring – 12 learners and 11 kids in 7 sessions with 13 tutors.

Public Notary – Sandy 2, Hoodland 3

City-Wide Events
We started selling City branded merchandise at the Sandy Library!

Volunteer Picnic – 154 volunteers got served food by City staff.

Timberline Lodge Magical History Tour – 21 people rode Mt Hood Express to Timberline, and toured it.This program was in coordination with the Senior Center and Transit Department!

Seed Library
Mt Hood Farmers Market – talked to 90 people, checked out 21 seed packets, made 2 new library cards, gave out 23 Summer Reading packets, and checked out one book.

Gardening During Drought -17 people attended this class taught by Clackamas County Master Gardeners.

Coffee House – 43 people came to listen to Adlai Alexander.  Noted for the sweetness and wide range of his voice, Adlai Alexander sings and accompanies himself with intricate guitar in a way that’s rare in both the acoustic and jazz worlds.

Paint Nite – 18 people came to paint with Melissa Lawrence.

Book Group – Men’s 10 people came to discuss Proof of Guilt by Charles Todd, Hoodland 8 people came to discuss Britt-Marie Was Here by Fredrik Backman.

Photography Group – 6 people met to begin planning a community photo contest and “mini-con”
