About a dozen City Staff (and friends!) participated in the Jingle Bell Run again this year! We had a blast.

Winter Poetry Reading – 5 people met at Hoodland Library to share poetry.

Paint Nite – 15 people attended to paint step-by-step with Melissa Lawrence.
Book Clubs:
Men’s – 10 people discussed A Woman of No Importance by Sonia Purnell.
Hoodland – 11 people discussed My Abandonment by Peter Rock.
Photography Group – 6 people attended a planning meeting for future projects.
Outreach

Vista Apartments – 30 kids did literacy and STEM activities. The Metropolitan Youth Symphony MYSfits String Ensemble came to play and hold an instrument petting zoo after.
ESOL tutoring – 30 tutors met with 35 students on 19 days
Department of Human Services – 6 people were served. They got SNAP application assistance, daycare provider information, and picked up checks and gas cards.

Exhibits
On generous loan from the Newport Public Library, Sandy Library currently has a travelling exhibit of Rick Bartow drawings. It is a great exhibit. Challenge – find all 18 drawings hanging in the library! https://www.facebook.com/thea.bramblrose/videos/10157951080577265/
The Library photography group has an exhibit! TheClackamas County Arts Alliance has displayed work from 7 Sandy area photographers on the 4th floor gallery.

Training
Katie Murphy attended a workshop called Navigating Systems: Impostor Syndrome, Stereotype Threat, and Code Switching, This workshop explored some of the systemic inequities effecting Latinx people, and communities of color more broadly (along with other marginalized identities) in our social institutions and public spaces.
