Welcome Back to the Library!

Beginning Monday, March 1st, Sandy and Hoodland Libraries will be opening our doors for limited browsing. Please be sure to follow our guidelines for browsing when you visit.

Sandy Library Drop-in Browsing Times:
Sunday: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Monday: 2:00 -4:00 pm
Tuesday: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Wednesday: 2:00 – 4:00 pm
Thursday: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Friday: 2:00 – 4:00 pm
Saturday: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

February Craft for a Cause!  Hearts for Teachers
We had 345 Hearts for Teachers returned to the library, plus 9 beautiful banners made by Wy’East Artisans Guild!

The Sandy Seed Library is back! (In January and February 2021 we checked out 228 seed packets through curbside service!)

Just in time for Spring planting!  Come to west side entrance during seed library open hours.
Saturday & Sunday: 10:00 am-12:00 pm and 1:00 – 4:00 pm
Monday, Wednesday & Friday: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm and 2:00 – 4:00 pm
Tuesday & Thursday: 10:00 am – 12 pm and 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm
If the door is not open, give us a call when you get to the library, we will let you in to browse and package your seeds.

Computers by Appointment at Sandy we had 62 people schedule appointments to use the computers. Our  capacity in February was 21 appointments/week.  In March we will be returning to 3 appointments available per hour in Sandy – a capacity of 63 appointments/week. At Hoodland we had 10 people schedule appointments to use the computers.  Capacity at Hoodland is 12 appointments/week.  People need to call to make an appointment.

Saturday & Sunday: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Monday, Wednesday, & Friday: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Tuesday & Thursday:  2:00 – 5:00 pm

Hoodland Computer Lab Hours:
Monday 12:00 -2:00 pm
Tuesday – Saturday 2:00 – 4:00 pm

Mobile Printing People are utilizing our mobile printing services.  Send prints from your smartphone, tablet, or laptop.  Once the print job is sent, it will sit in a queue waiting to be released to print.  Call the library on the same day to have staff release the print job. Pick up your prints through our Curbside Service.  For a limited time, printing is free of charge.

Statistics for mobile printing:
Sandy – 16 users printed 48 jobs (236 pages)
Hoodland 7 users printed 21 jobs (31 pages)

eCards – Sandy created 20 new library accounts, Hoodland created 3.

Book Bundles are here! – We supplied 9 people with personalized reading recommendations through our regular book bundle form and an additional 11 people through Blind Date with a Book!

Curbside pickup of holds Pickup at Sandy is 10am-4pm Monday-Saturday and 12-4pm on Sunday.  At Hoodland 10am-12pm Monday and 12-2pm Tuesday-Friday. 

Sandy – 1620 pickups in 25 days.  This averages 65 pickups/day(up from 60 last month). 
Hoodland – 349 pickups in 20 days.  Averages 17 pickups/day(same as last month).
We checked out a total of 6803 items(down from last month’s 7348) through curbside pickup!

Vista Newsletter – Katie Murphy delivered 29 Vista Newsletters (with hearts for teachers kits!) to kids.  Read February’s copy here!

Every day on the Sandy Public Library Friends Facebook Page, Thea Ellen has been posting an Early Literacy Activity to do with kids, a storytime with a famous person, something about a current topic and a Library resource or other current available resource.

Virtual Storytimes

Each January LINCC (Libraries IN Clackamas County) holds a Teen art contest.  The winner’s art is used for Summer Reading.  This year, Sandy Library had 5 submissions.  Stay tuned to find out who the winner is and see photos!
