Seed Check-outs and Donations
In 2024, we had 3045 packets of seeds checked out.  Brianna Chase, our Seed Library Coordinator reports that this year, we have received seed packet donations from 4 nurseries/companies totaling $1209.87.
Baker Creek = $$368.75

Territorial Seed = $309.30
If you get a chance, please thank them for their generosity.  

Game Donations 
Our new Teen Librarian Kris Ritchie has been busy digging into Teen services.  He wrote to multiple game companies asking for donations of games.  Thus far Kris has received a grand total of $1,508.46 in games! Most of these games will be set aside for teen programs, but some (especially for younger or older groups) will go into the Library of Things collection. Below are the game companies that have donated so far.

Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS)
ODHS is in the Library. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00am – 3:00pm for drop-in assistance.

Take & Make – 120 (100 Sandy and 20 Hoodland).  Paper Lanterns.  Take & Make available beginning on the 15th day of the month. 

Vista Apartments – 37 kids attended for literacy and STEM activities.

Pioneer Mobile Home Park – 16 kids attended to learn to sew at this monthly outreach event.

LEGO Club – Sandy 18 kids and 12 adults

STEM Club – 23 kids and 12 Adults attended to make Glow-in-the-Dark Putty.

Read to the Dog – 28 kids attended to read to Tanis

Reading Tutoring – 14 one hour sessions of reading tutoring  at Sandy (1 tutor and 1 student each).

Storytimes
Storytime videos were posted in our Facebook Group: Sandy and Hoodland Libraries – Storytime Parents Group.  Use numbers were recorded after 1 week. All Storytimes were presented by librarian Monica Smith – unless otherwise noted.

Dungeons and Dragons – 9 teens attended this fantasy tabletop role playing game

Teen Hangout – 8 teens attended to make book hedgehogs.

Teen Library Advisory Board (TLAB) – 8 teens attended to help staff work on their January Program Geek Out!.  A cosplay fashion fashion show with potluck and art exhibit.

Take & Make – 87 teens pick up supplies to make Lavender Sugar Scrub.  Teen Take & Make is available on the 1st of each month.

Teen Makerspace – 15 teens came to our first week in our 5 week Makerspace Camps.  So far they have made laser engraved leather bracelets.

Adult Programs
Special
Seedy Saturday – 55 people attended to bring seeds and take others home with them.

Creation Station Artist reception – 30 people came to meet the artists and view the art of our Creation Station participants.  Come view the art through March 16th.

Vision Board Workshop – 7 people attended this program to create a vision for their life in 2025 with presenter Janelle Wren

Estate Planning Workshop – 9 people attended to listen to presenter Jamie Worley of AFEPI NW at the Hoodland Library.

Ongoing
Mobile Stabilization and Outreach Unit – 12 clients and 10 service providers attended.  This unit is coordinated by Parole and Probation Officer, Amanda Denis from the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office with the help of community partners: Love One, 4D, Central City Concern, Parrott Creek, Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization (IRCO), ODHS and Clackamas Behavioral Health.   Watch this quick video about what this resource means to community members.

Take & Make – 100 (80 Sandy, 20 Hoodland) people pick up supplies to create a Positive Affirmations kit.  Adult Take and Makes are ready on the 15th of each month

Spanish Language Class – 6 people attended with one teacher

Creation Station – Creation Station is a twice monthly interactive program that welcomes adults with disabilities.  23 attended the 2nd Monday and 30 attended on the 4th Monday.

ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Class – 8 people attended with 1 teacher
ESOL tutor – 7 one hour sessions (1 tutor and 1 student each)

Writing Group  – 26 people attended our writing group 

Fiber Arts Circle – 59 people attended in the Fireplace Room on Tuesday and Saturday afternoons, and 8 attended our first month of Fiber Arts in Hoodland!

American Red Cross Blood Drive – 31 people attended and 27 donated blood.

Mahjong – 15 people attended the beginner mahjong lesson with regular play afterwards.

French Conversation group – 4 people attended this group at Hoodland Library

Computer Classes – 4 people attended Keyboard and Mouse, Computer Basics, Internet Basics, and  Google Drive and Google Docs classes.

Book-a-Librarian – 3 people attended to transfer data from an old phone to a new one, download apps onto a new iPad, and ascertain why calls are not coming through on their phone.
